Title: RV8 in midwar

Flying in Mid war last night, almost got me an RV8 over an enemy base.  I didn't know you could fly those things online? I couldn't find it in my hangar.

I think that I read that they are flying in any arena.  But I haven't tried it yet either and I am stuck at work or I would try for the fun if it :)

Go to the hangar, type .showrv and then leave the hangar, when you return it will be there!  I didnt type the .showrv8  I left the 8 off and it still apppeared when I went back to the hangar!

Version 2.09 Patch 0 Released November 15, 2006

Changes from previous release

You can now fly HiTech's RV-8 offline. To get the RV-8 to show up in the plane list, type the dot command .showrv into the radio bar. Leave the hangar to get the plane list to refresh and the RV-8 will now display in the plane list.




You can always make it show on the list.... question remains if its greyed out or available :).
It is definitly enabled in the TA. Not sure if its intentional in any of the MAs.

Yes Schatzi...I mentioned it as a bug about a week ago on the boards here.  It DEFINITELY has been showing up in MW arena.

Unarmed....yellow...and buzzing around like a bee...(for those brave souls who don't mind not having guns.)

I flew it in the MW for about 3 minutes..............I got 200 yards off the runway!  SLOW SLOW SLOW!:D

we had a squad event of who could land the most manuver kills in an rv8.  Was a lot of fun.

Leave the RV8!  It doesn't have guns so there should be no problem if someone wants to buzz around in one!

Whats the big deal?  Are they hurting you or your gameplay?  Or are you just mad that you augered trying to kill one?;)

Hehe nope, didn't auger, but the ack was fearsome.

Tell me how it fits or is appropriate for a WWII online combat game, please? What's next, Huey helicopters?  All I'm saying is that while the RV8 has some entertainment value in the offline sense, it doesn't belong in the online arenas any more than a Sopwith Camel, Cessna 172 or a Dodge Challenger.

It would be fun for April Fool's though.

challanger, charger,  tomato, tomaato.  It will be the RV-8 of GV's.  And the main gun button becomes the horn. :D Nothin' better than doin' donuts 'round a Panzer.
