Ever tried to get your dog or cat to swallow a pill or take meds?.. lol
Here's a tick a vet hooked me up with, works like a charm:
Take a jar all meat baby food, not the ones with peas, carrots and junk.. all meat. Try to avoid Gerber's, its got onion salt... salt isnt that great.
Spoon out a hefty chunk of baby food and place it on a folded paper towel. The paper towel will draw out the water, the baby food gets putty-like.
Manipulate the food putty into a ball, then poke a dent in it with your finger... be sure, obviously, the dent is cavernous enough for the meds to fit. If you have multiple meds, make more med balls.
Place the meds (crushed pill / liquid) in that dent, then spoon out a bit more baby food to cover it up... feed it to your pet.
You cat or dog will gobble it up without thinking or knowing hes eatn meds.. from then on the "pop" noise the baby food jar makes will bring em right to you... they love all meat baby food.
BTW if you ever find a poor starving kitten you want to feed, all meat baby food is great for them... not as a daily diet, but its great for putting weight on and getting them to eat.

If your dog is smart it will eventualy figure out whats going on. Well mine did anyway.

Peanut butter works great with my dog. Just scoop some out of the jar with my finger, bury the pill in it, and call the dog. Licks it all up and doesn't spit the pill.
-
Or you could just stick it in their mouth, hold it closed and stroke their throat. Forces them to swallow and down it goes.

cream cheese works well too.
With my cat however, I usually found it better to just force open his jaws and shove the pill down to where his gag reflex was overcome by a swallow reflex. He never seemed to hold it against me and I had a good techique that meant he never accidentally bit or scratched me.
In the summer, we'd give the cat some goo stuff that helped prevent furballs. He used to like the taste and would lick it off our fingers, but he eventually decided he didn't like it. We found that the best technique in that case was to dab the stuff on his front paw. Cats HATE stuff on their paws so he'd lick it all off :)

If you really have trouble, most vets have a "pill shooter", you place the pill in it, open the animal's mouth, stick the pill shooter to the back, and squeeze. We use the same thing on cows.
-
I just stick it in the back of their throat...they have to swallow it...animals don't gag as much as girlfri..I mean humans do...:D

We had this half rotty half labrador and he was the smartest thing ya ever saw.. Man what a growl too hehe
This one time I dropped a big chunk of penut butter on the ground, dont know why cause I hate penut butter, anyway he tried to eat it and got it stuck to the roof of his mouth man it cracked me up...

I do this also but I'll coat the pill in butter first, makes it slide down easier.

With the right touch, you can get a horse to deal cards. it's simply a matter of voltage :)

I use butter, and so do many vets.
Most of the time I just drop the pill into the dog's throat, close his mouth and hold the nose down. GULP!
