In real life plane crews had to balance the fuel weight load and the ordance weight load for their missions, why not make that the same in AH?

We do have to balance load and fuel. You can take 2 drop tanks or two bombs, or one bomb and one drop tank on any P-38.
What you have overlooked is that we fly 35 to 50 miles to get to the target. In WWII they often had to fly several hundred miles. Fuel was an issue at those ranges, it is much less of an issue here, and we're usually flying at full MIL power most of the time.

True, the size of our maps the distance we have to fly make it possible for a bomber to take off fully loaded with fuel and ordance and fly a couple of sectors. So I guess that pretty much trumps my idea. *shrug* Oh well.
