Test your pitch perception.  Test your perception! (http://tonometric.com/adaptivepitch/)

Speakers and background noise do affect the test. Headphones are optimal for it.

retried with a pair of headphones, went down to 3.0. sounds about right anyway.

tried the tone deaf test as well, scored 83.3% with the same speakers as other test.

Heh... 0.2625 on the pitch, but 80.6% on the tonedeaf test. Gonna try it again.

Interesting test, though... wonder how valid it is. Not exactly a controlled environment between takers.

I have tinnitus but still did well on the test. There are some sounds I just don't hear and if there'd been any background noise I'd probably be off the chart on the bad end.

The tone-deaf test is for short term memory not so much musical abilities.

If you do bad in tone-deaf you're either seriously tone-deaf or just have problems with short term memory.

I got a 3, didn't take the tone deaf test: I dont wanna know!

Played several brass instruments in high school, and took up guitar afterwards.  Though its been about 10 years since I tried to play much at all.
