Was just in the AvAand the plane sets at some fields are not in order. For example; P1 shows up on the map as a port, but is a large airfeild with all planes available. Cool map otherwise. :aok

P1 is a port and an airfield. P1 is suppose to represent Pearl Harbor.

P-51 at Hickam Field, Pearl Harbor. :)

It's a matter of time-frame.

So when was that pic taken?
-
Just because the map includes Pearl harbor doesn't make it 1941, it also includes Okinawa and that doesn't make it 1945:p

Hi Soda, hi all!
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for your nice AvA promotion clips in YouTube, very well done, great idea, good promotion. It stands as a good example of what can be done to promote this Arena.
Secondly, I would like to say that this excellent PTO map is a valuable adition to all the extraordinary maps available in AvA, like the Fin/Rus and BoB. Kudos to the designers, a job well done.
Thirdly, I would like to submit a proposition regarding this map and his use in AvA. That proposal is this:
- Why not develop a RPS that cover the whole 1941 to 1944 time period, keeping this map online for, 3 or 4 weeks?
IMHO, that would represent better the historical inbalances in forces and equipment throughout the campaign, but avoid weird enconters...
- Why not do some research about the Allied and Japanese Order of Battle in those periods, especially regarding Naval and Aerial Forces, and suitably and proportionaly, reflect it in the RPS and geographically?
IMHO, having the right planes flying from the right airfields or carriers, geographically speaking, would be of some interest...
- Why not desactivate certain areas of the map - like airfields, ports, vehicle bases - as the RPS progresses, focusing action on the main battle areas?
IMHO, this would induce a certain action funneling into the arena, concentrating players where the battles historically ocurred, during the RPS time frame, thus avoiding having to look all over the theatre of operations for a fight...Coral Sea, Guadalcanal, Midway, Marianas, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, just to name a few...
- Why not make the CVs sinkable and captures enabled with a minimum of 40 troops?
This would increase the value of the carrier groups in a very interesting way...and give some meaning to the concept of amphibian assault...
Ok, that's enough for one evening, off to bed after taking my pills...:lol
Cya soon, salute,
Sparrow
