Gentlemen,

   I have a bit of a problem with my Defrag routine on my new Dell. It doesn't seem to finish and keeps restarting itself. I know with my old system, I would defrag every month or so, and felt that AH tended to run smoother. Any help or ideas?

Hit ctrl-alt-del and close all programs but Explorer and systray.
That helped me.

 CC. Shut off your screen saver and do not move your mouse too!
 It takes me about 5-10 minutes to defrag my 8.4 gig drive because I do it regularly. about once a week.  But if I go to defrag a HDD for the first time in a long time it can take an hour or two or even more.
 Start it before you go to bed, shut your monitor off, with the monitor power switch, and check it in the am.
