My nephew was at Best Buy at the right time and bought 2 PS3s, just to resell them. They were going for around $3,000; now they are around $1,000 (on ebay). He thinks they will go up as we near Christmas. When would you sell?
-
More of em are supposed to be released in time for the holidays, but of course it won't be enough to meet consumer demand. It's a roll of the dice, but I think the hard-core-must-haves (the ones willing to pay 3k) will get theirs on the second retail opportunity.
I'd sell it now and be happy with the profit.

What I wanna know is what kind of moron it takes to be willing ans stupid enough shell out 1K or more for a system that sells for under 700?
Available or not. Nobody needs one that bad
Then again Im still trying ot figure out why anyone would be stupid enough to be willing to spend up to $700 for the damn thing to begin with.
Couple of days ago I was in Target siwh my sister in law and we passed byt eh game section.
Some teenage kid was intently playing on the PS3 demo they had set up. With what looked like his parents looking on
I looked over an a loud clear voice said to my sister in law.
"ohh look, there is the latest overpriced waste of money everyone was fighting over a couple weeks ago."
the kid looked at me in disgust with a why dont you STFU look on his face.
the father laughed and said "You got that one right brother." then turned to the kid and said to the kid. "Lets go"
I thought the teeny bopper was about to start crying right then and there as he walked away shooting me death stares.
LMAO
Q- What do you call a PS3 owner?
A- Sucker!
-
If I knew then what I know now, I woulda camped out at target and bought as many as I could carry. Stupid people's money spends just as well as everyone else's. Actually, stupid money has a more satisfying *ca-ching* sound to it.
:aok

Sell both of em now. I got lucky here and bought one and am waiting on its replacement since it fried itself within three days of being played for a couple hours each day. As soon as I get my replacement (BestBuy would not let me exchange for a bunch of PC components) I am selling mine to a friend for what I paid. I have a 360 and will have a Wii as soon as I sell this hunk of crap PS3.
-
:lol Good story Dred, I agree.

Get a half-decent pc and get more and better games than you will ever get on any console. You dont need to share the damned thing with friends around a tv set either. And there is more! You can do useful things like porn on the pc!

I was thinking of getting an xbox360 this year, how do they compare to playstation2 and are there plenty of games to play on it. Or should I wait til PS3 comes down in price?
-
My friend said there isn't much difference between the PS3 and 360, and the 360 is $200 cheaper or so isn't it? Currently the 360 has more games because it's half a year old, not sure if it can play the regular xbox games but I think it can.
Games specifically for the PS3 are few but the amount should go up significantly within the month (holiday season) and several months afterwards just because it's new.
Not sure about in comparison to the PS2 though, I like older consoles case games are super cheap:aok

Eskimo, sell it to http://www.ebay.co.uk
you will make a fortune because they are not released here, and the dollar is at a 14 year low against the £ (1.95 dollars to the pound last time i looked)
If you need a UK address to send it to and ship it from PM me :)

Unfortunately importing PS3s into the UK is illegal: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6076354.stm.

Something I didnt "get"
When PS3 was first available and you had all these people camping out in lines at the stores.
In some places two days in advance.
Now as if that wasnt bad enough. The most any 1 store had in stock of the PS3 was something like 30.
Most only got in 15-20
Yet. there were lines of 80-100 people at these stores.
Why???
I could almost understand up to 40 as a few may drop out for one reason or another.
But 80?
Did these idiots somehow think another 50 would magically appear out of thin air?
Or did they think they might get lucky and the store managed to overloook one that they would get?
My favorite story was the guy that camped for 2 days. actually got the PS3
Then was robbed at his car and had it stolen from him
LMAO

i bet u could get a pretty penny selling it to kim jong illlol

One of my newspaper buddies camped out and bought one and then wrote a story about the experiences for the newspaper... Our web guy is being a little slow with getting that issue up online, but if he ever does manage, I'll post a link... It's kind of an interesting story about how all this went down.
