The navy has,
Bravo-Zulu
Marines have,
oo-Rah
etc...
Whats a universal praise word/saying.
That can be abbreviated into 5 letters?
Example.
Huzah
Oorah
etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's suppose to be a praise word..
As In, good job, etc.

attaboy? not military specific I suppose, but a lot of 'em use it...

I hear a solid pat on the rear has become more vogue. Especially in the Navy.

there is none , make one up.
BTW when i was in the Marines no one said "oo-rah", have no idea where that came from, maybe they got it from a TV show.

Then I figure if I'm a PSG and the 1SG isn't biyatchin at me I wasn't doing my damn job right...
From TOP it was always a "Term of Endearment" like "Bastage"...
But he'd be the first to buy the round in the NCO Club.

the army guys on base were constantly saying hooah. was mostly "good job, shipmate" from what I remember in the navy...

Most common word for a good job that I heard in the Army was "outstanding".

It was real prevalent from 96 to 01 when I was in.
The USAF say hooa like the army does.
Hooa is a service wide answer for anything.
Another one I hear quite often is "kudos"
-
I was in US Army from 1983 - 1987 and our word was "Hardcore!"
If a group was expressing praise it was usually "HOO-RAH!"

And that goes triple for the rest of you pansy-assed morons. Now get the hell out of here before I shove my boot so far up your bellybutton that you choke to death on my shoelaces."
