Title: Oldest T-Shirt
Post by: ByeBye on December 08, 2006, 12:54:02 AM
Whats the oldest (known) t-shirt that you own and still wear?

I have a black ( now grey) Rebock t-shirt that is about 5 years old and I still wear it on the weekends at times. I don't know why.:lol

My high school team tshirt. That tshirt has been through thousands of beer, ketchup, mustard,etc.. spills. It has a few minor rips and some small bleach stains.

A few summers ago I had it on for weeks. Passing out in it waking up and doing it all over again.

That i wear on a regular basis:
Bought in March '99, while on a surf trip to Bali

Got this Bintang Teashirt off a street vendor for next to nothing, grey with the Bintang (an Indonesian beer) logo on the back.

the cotton is sooooo soft, its never bobbled or worn away round the neck from stubble rub,

its the most comfy lush t-shirt i've ever owned, though the logo is a bit faded.

:-)

I have a blue Bud Light T-shirt that I borrowed from a friend in 1988.  It's so worn you can see through it.  One of these days I should give it back...

oldest one hmmm several of them from around 73-74 up to around 79 or so. I don't wear T-shirts anymore, haven't worn any since the early 80's.
doesn't matter what I am doing farmwork, mowing, plowing, working in garage, or at work, going to town, out to party, etc. I wear a nice shirt. reason might sound lame but anyway, can die at anytime, might as well go out looking good, than looking ..well.... not so good.

yes people at work think I'm insane for wearing nice clothes to work.
 maybe I am  :noid :t

I have 2 of them with the ship's picture and logo on them from the first 2 WHEC Cutters I was on in Hawaii (1978).  Needless to say I was 133 lbs then and 200 now, (plus washings) so they don't fit me.  My kids wear them as sleep wear :)

I think its funny that we hold on to and wear old t-shirts. I don't keep any other type of clothing for very long myself. Maybe a pair of shoes.

I have, and I still wear (I swear to God),  the pair of tennis shorts I used to wear when I was on the High School tennis team in 1976.  They had an elastic top, which has since all stretched out, and they are a little....uh....tight around the legs.  But my wife loves it when I wear them with my little boxers hanging out the bottom of them  :O

There are just some things we never need to know, at all, and this is a perfect example of one of those things.   excuse me now while I go to my shock therapy appointment to remove the memory of this thread....

I have a t-shirt from back in my active duty days.  Must be from 89 or 90.  Way too damn small now.

Yep, it hangs in the corner of the closet and comes out for special occasions. I had another KZEW shirt but it mysteriously dissappeared.
