Came across a photo of the ground crew working on mine after a typical flight in Aces High.....Well a typical flight that involves landing in one way shape or form anyway:)

heheheh LOL Bronk. Yeah Dan there's not enough bullet holes and not weeds in the flaps. That can't be yours. :D

OK so I lied. I took a photo of Shuffler's 38 and tried to pass it off as mine.
Here's a photo someone got after one of my flights as I was walking away from my bird.

Interesting photo, Lanc in the background and what is that over the top of the port wing? looks like a cannon barrel? Guessing it is something to do with the plumbing for the engine tho?

That cant be yours dan , they are actually working on it instead of striping it as a written off bird *) .

It takes more than six guys to put one of his back together.
His ground crew is just one guy with a push broom and some oil dry.

More like one of these? (if the link works...)

the second one doesnt look like a 38.... i see MG opening's in one of the wings
-
Thats the intercooler located in the leading edge.
Relocating it under the engine is what made the scoop bigger and allowed for the leading edge fuel tank from the J onwards.
-
You can see the turbocharger in the second picture, and the cockpit is obviously P-38 as well.

I believe that this P-38 IS being stripped for parts. Dan can verify that.
My regards,

I dunno Widewing. It looks like they guy over the cockpit is still trying to get Dan to climb on out.
"Come on out Dan, it really is mechanics ripping apart the plane, not bullets." :)

Hey! Just cause I get stuck under the dash now and then trying to avoid the cannon fire! What's the problem? :)
Yeah it's a 9th AF 38 getting 'cannibalized' for parts at a forward field in France.
I'd make em fix it again if it was mine :)
