Is the orange arena the only one with the new capture system in place? I never go to late war because of the split arena thing but I have noticed that orange is somewhat of a ghost town and the other is either full or over full. What gives?
:D

orange LW is indeed the system..check it out because it's coming soon.
-
Are they both late war the same or are they different? Like I said, I stay away from late war so I have no idea. I do look at the numbers when logging on though. If they are different and orange is the new way it looks like it's not very popular with the masses.

Most people don't want to go into the LWorange arena, they would prefer to be in the LWblue arena, however due to lame capping system a lot are "being forced" into the LWorange (for those who like the LW arena's). otherwise they could go to the equally lame EW or MW arena's.

Sorry, not the EW & MW arenas are lame but most players in there. Just spend a few mins there before going to lunch . As usual 5 rooks 2 bish 0 knights when I entered - and guess who´s bases the rooks were just attacking ??? ;)

I'd be bored to tears.

No, I was called lame - I upped, killed first goon, engaged in dogfight and crashed while trying to kill troops in town. On Ch200 I could read that I am the lame dweeb... :rofl

I posted in another thread about my LWO experience. I spent a good share of yesterday in there, and found that a little organization with a few guys (squad or country in general) worked pretty well to at least get the ball rolling against Knits later in the evening.
I put up a few missions, small by old MA standards, but effective. For most of the day there weren't the numbers in Bishland to make the missions extravagant, but the people that joined seemed to have fun, even though we weren't always successful.
Altogether it wasn't as bad as the original bare-bones test HT had up in the first place. I'm giving it more time for HTC to work the bugs out, but so far I have no real problems with it. What I saw in LWO yesterday was that there was something in it for all styles of play.

Yes the LWO has the new system in it. The new system is being used to bring the large maps back into rotation. With the new system inplace it will cut down on the very extended fronts they would have due to the lower caps being in place.
LWB is still running the small maps at this time, but once HTC gets the bugs worked out and is satisfied with the way the new capture system works on the big maps I'm sure we'll see the big maps in the rotation in LWB too.
As for the EW and MW arenas, I wish there were more people interested in flying there. I much preffer not fighting LA's and spit 16's all the time. The plane sets in both of these arenas are much closer and far more fun. Unfortunatly there just aren't that many targets :D

I know what you mean. I used to log into EW and MW quite often. The fights were fun when there were people in them, but it seems the EW/MW environment fell on it's face. People seem stuck in the Spit16/La7 crutch planes...no offense.

Thanks for the answer guys. I will continue to make my home in Mid War.

Heh. Stop into AvA, too. Good places to avoid all the ulcer-creating conduct that apparently plagues the late war arenas.
- oldman (actually, we even have a late war plane set this week)

Lusche and other MW stalwarts:
I have been taking the squad into mid-war to try and support it since the new arena system came in. I have now stopped doing this for a while at least.
The latest changes (stupid capture system) and reported new ones to be introduced mean that that many of us are actively looking for another game to move to. In light of this it's become obvious that we need to try and get some fun out of the game while we are still able and while we are still paying. This means MW visits will be more rare.
Supporting HTC's changes has delivered us nothing but threats of more change from them.
It's sad but to the MW stalwarts.

I still scratch my head wondering why they tested a system supposedly designed to concentrate numbers in a low-arena setting in one of the two huge arenas, not one of the 2 ghost towns.
How do you know if its really gonna work effectively on small numbers if you are testing it in a 350+ arena?
I keep upping in mid or early war and not seeing another soul, then going into late and having to slug through the horde to get anything done, seems totally bass-ackwards to me.

Well that may be one of the by-products of this new set-up to work on keeping the sides evened up. Im sure there will be a bunch that will STILL refuse to switch from there favorite chess piece, and switching to MW or EW even may be the "lesser of two evils" for them. Maybe the numbers will start to climb again in those arenas, maybe people will find out how much fun can be had there too.
who knows, only time will tell.
