yeah, well screw it.

was trying to find a way to post the Russian national anthem here.

But...seeing as how it has some "questionable" lyrics I don't want to inhibit the oppoprtunites of my more "freedomly challenged" southern bretheren.

But...it really is a very inspirational piece of music.

oh.....did I forget to wink?

Cool song. Now what's with two posts in the O'Club about Russian patriotic songs anyway? Not that I mind and I do like the music, I'm just curious what spured it.

Well Mark, I spent 2 decades of my life in the Military staring down the great red`horde.

just a testament to what was, what is, and the inspiration that was there.

That is still the Anthem.....and that will not change.

Still kinda fits though.

Freedom...who woulda thunk it?

Glorious anthem.  Russia has a remarkable heritage of inspiring music.  Glad the Cold War is over.  Glad we are friends with the Russians.  Wish we were friends with everyone.  

The current movie Babel shows the main problem -- the world speaks so many radically different languages we have a terrible time understanding each other.  If there is one Bible story that makes the most sense, it's the Tower of Babel.  

Amazing what the Earth could do if its peoples spoke the same language.

Now, with so many competing tongues -- too many translations, too many interpretations, too many ambiguities.  Basically, all peoples want pretty much the same things.  Understanding each other better would greatly facilitate cooperation.
