i have a voodoo 3000  P III 600   128 mg ram

when i go to play AH i get this error , and it only lets me select my primary display adapter (16 bit) and some buffer crap.
i get THIS ERROR!!!!

     initialization failed with -3 mainGr3D_failed -3

what the hedck is that!?!?!?!?!

Make sure you DO NOT try to select 32 bit color.  The V3's do not support 32 bit color, so if you have tried to set it to that color depth you may have pooched it.

It is your primary display adapter, so that part is OK.

If this doesn't work.  Make sure you have the latest drivers and at least DX 7.0a or DX 8.  The last thing is to un-install AH totally and re-install it.  Make sure you delete the directory and everything before you re-install.

I get that in new systems where i forget to put in the sound card... is the sound card installed correctly.... only a guess...

Looks to me like you need to update your DirectX.  DX7a is still the best IMO for AH.  You should still be able to find it at www.microsoft.com/directx (http://www.microsoft.com/directx)  .  (Be aware some people have had problems with DX8, it's still pretty buggy.)

Also, as stated before, pick 16 bit color.  You will get a lockup with a light blue background if you pick 32 bit.

Hi Krusha26,
 Sounds like video drivers to me I had exactly the same problem when I reformatted my HD and installed the drivers supplied with the card (Only Voodoo 2 but I'll still bet that's your problem). Getting the latest drivers meant all was well with the world again   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
