Title: A couple of GV ideas
Post by: GlassJaw on December 11, 2006, 03:27:39 PM
Can we make the pintle gun keep its orientation when we switch views?

Can we make the the throttle function on our joysticks control the GV's throttle?

Here's another one.  How about modling fuel milage.  Right now you can drive any vehicle all day with 25% fuel.

Well, that's because those engines and the gas they had could run for days and days.

How long far do you really drive a GV? Most GVs in game never drive more than 5 miles. You would have to drive about 2 full sectors to get in trouble with a 25 % fuel loadout in a Panzer IV.
Modelling fuel consumption & loadout simply has no tactical implications.

It's a long story but I actually drove over 3 sectors one night in (can't remember which) either a Panzer or an Ostie with 25% fuel and showed no signs of running out.  This was a couple of years ago.

[EDIT]:  OK, I don't know what I was thinking.  My own Jeep can go 400 miles on a tank of fuel or 100 on a quarter.  Imagine if you drove a vehicle 4 sectors and ran out of fuel before you got where you were going.  The ultimate in frustration.  Retract that request.

More then once when driving an LVT-4 I have to go to my .50 can and turn it to the front EVERY time when I drive in that mode. More annoying then watching Rosanne
