Could something along these lines be implemented.

Each squad ALWAYS has one "join slot" open for the nation that they have pilots in. Basicly this means that unsquaded pilots and small squads will ballance the sides.

If a squad doesnt have anyone online and the first pilot joins then he and that squad will obviously be rerouted to the new nation.

You wount have exactly equal numbers this way but it would allow squads to stick together.

I was thinking something similar yesterday on the way home but I havent quite got it all figured out.

Squads could reserve time , have a set time say like for their squad night, like making reservations, after a set time like 15 minutes they lose the spot.  May not be workable.

You could also use something like a system message: The arena is unbalanced, 5 knights waiting to join.  then give some time for people to switch countries to allow those waiting to join in.  Maybe hand out perks to those that switch?  May not be workable either.

Let squads have assigned bases that they have to defend to keep (may not be enough bases to go around) or assign a base to a squad when they sign in.  not sure how that helps, its just bouncing around in my head.

Kinda makes it tough if the so called 'squad' has 3-6 wings of 32  players.  Easy way to dominate a country wouldn't ya think?

whats so hard about moving a whole squad to the team with the less numbers? i mean its just as fun to shoot down ur old friends as it is flying with them.. i know this from experience..

I'm in a squad myself, but I don't pay any more or any less than someone who is not. Just because we're in squads doesn't mean we should get preferencial treatment.

However, perhaps this might be something to consider for users on the 2 week free plan. Give subscribers priority in the queue to one degree or another. Not sure if HTC wants to potentially alienate new subscribers by keeping them from playing though. Hard to say if that'd be a smart move, but I'd be happy to have that as one of the perks of being a subscriber.

I suggested thing during the last change. Probably the effort of assigning squads to an arena was too much.

Something similar has already been broached in the "mother-of-all" threads. Assign squads evenly to countries for a fixed period of time (reshuffling the country assignment each new time period), then filling in with non squad-affliliated users dynamically.

I don't think they would dominate, Guppy, since squads could be assigned based on active members and distributed among the countries.
