This is a real life video, lots of gun cam vid, some toolshedding, some furballin, some is studio clips and such... And at the end some great footage of a pilot with a torn up plane and a bad case of the shakes.
Enjoy

Any audiophiles out there think they can capture those sounds and put together a P47 sound pack ...love the sounds on the guns, and the planes flying in formation.

The sounds in that great film were added later. It is a very far cry from what eight real fifty caliber machine guns sound like.

All I can afford to do is sit in a P-47 cockpit and make varoom varoom
noises. That puppy burns ALOT of very expensive avgas :D

That's great fun. It has some magic laser .50s that can blow up a building in a couple of shots. And is that napalm I see, or just a big explosion? Aces High would benefit from napalm. I'm sure this has been discussed before so I shall move on.
I can envisage the senior flight instructor teaching his cadets in exactly the same tone of voice as that used in the video, but faster and louder.
"Now men, this is how you start a P-47. Trimtabsthrottleclosedpropcon trol... mixtureidlecutoff... pumpprimerthrottle... magnetosstarterwaitforthesign al... and try not to chop up your ground crew, they make a mess on the windscreen. Got that? Good. Now show me how you do it."
"Er, Sir..."
At which point the flight instructor gets angry and turns into Sgt Hartmann from Full Metal Jacket.

It's an actor. That first part, up to the engine start, is from Jeff Ethell's Roaring Glory warbird video, Flying the P-47 Thunderbolt.

Vulching bastage !!!

A squaddie of mine sent me this link a couple weeks ago. Check 4:07 of the video, it's a 65th Jug......you can see the Fightin' **** noseart plain as day. Couple others in there too.:D
-
That footage is available from the History Channel. I have it on VHS. The Title of the tape is THUNDERBOLTS The Conquest of the Reich.
If you are a Jug fan it is a must have.

Yeah and then you can see the M3s rolling in without beeing shot at by Tigers. And with the VH clearly up this is either offline footage or 8 player.
