Seattle had to cancel their live nativity scene. They couldn't find any virgins or wisemen. However, the manger remains. There still are plenty of jack-prettythange$ around D.C. for that role. ;)
Oh, and Peace on Earth! :)

I wonder how many people clicked on this thread expecting another battle against their mythical "war on christmas"...
Nice pic, btw!
-
In this case, they spelled "peace" wrong.

Seems the only one's claiming it's mythical are the ones who want to do away with it.

There's plenty that don't want to see the war the ACLU is waging on Christianity too.

If you're asserting that I want to get rid of christmas, that's laughably incorrect.

The war on christmas, or Christmas?
Cause it's over you know. Victory has been claimed and WalMart is back in the fold.

It may in fact be over depending on whether or not the Senate has the willingness to take the big bucks off the table for the ACLU in it's fight against Chrstianity.

A school told kids that Santa doesn't exist. Sounds like bad judgement, isn't calling this a skirmish in the 'war on christmas' a bit much? Is every parent who eventually tells their kids about Santa enemy infantry?
http://www.fox28.com/News/index.php?ID=10198
It was a kid that complained, are kids your enemy too? And the kid just didn't believe in Santa, it wasn't a religious thing.

Religious display on government land is ok how? Would you be ok with an Islamic diorama during ramadan?
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=47190
A group is urging religious organizations to put nativite scenes on their own property instead of government property. If it was a war on Xmas, wouldn't they be trying to stop the nativity scene from being shown at all?
http://blog.lawinfo.com/2006/12/11/christmas-trees-are-removed-by-threat-of-lawsuit/
Yeah, that was stupid.

Last week, Joe's parents, Betty and Frank Samona, received a notice from the community association that sets regulations in their upscale Tollgate Woods subdivision. It said the family may be violating rules that prohibit lawn ornaments, statues or outdoor art from being placed on the lot without prior approval of the board of directors.
This is typical homeowners association crappery, I know plenty of folks that have gotten letters like this for putting fountains and planting shrubs in their front yards, but they don't assert that there's a War on Landscaping going on.

You're going to be very busy if you plan on justifying (in your mind) every single case that exists today, Chair.
here's another...

You've shown me a few isolated news stories, but no evidence that a "war on christmas" exists.
If the quality of standards you're employing is valid, then I'd be able to "prove" a 'War on Atheists", but I'm not gonna try, because I have better regard for your intelligence than perhaps you have for mine.

no war just a growing ignorance ..

Read O'Reilly's latest Book. Opens a few eyes. I purchased it to read on a flight home from Tampa. Darned if it doesn't make you think.

[QUOTEReligious display on government land is ok how? Would you be ok with an Islamic diorama during ramadan?
[/QUOTE]
And how is it not ok?
For 200 years since the writing of the consitution it was fine.
Its only in the last 10-20 years has it been deemed incorrect
And as for Islamic diorama
If the community in question was in large part Islamic
Sure why not
there is a town here that the vast majority of the population is. or I should say was. Jewish.
It wasnt uncommon to see Jewish symbols even on goverment property
Such as the Manora during Hannuka
and it seems to me the White House every year has at least more then one Christmas Tree set up
Or isnt the White House Government Property?
-
Is this like the war on plaque? Because I'm thinking that with all those candies, chocolates and desserts, that Christmas is in league with plaque.

People of other religions are having money taken from them at the point of gun and then the government is using that money to promote a specific religious observance. Talk about adding insult to injury.

That's why we have rights, to protect us from the majority shoving their ideas down our throats and making us pay for them.

Now everyone should know me enough by now to know I dont typically argue a point without providing an arguement. Often on walloftext book form
So this is outside the norm
But
inasmuch as I dont have the time or the temperment right now to respond in detail
I will agree to dissagree with just about everything you said and pointed to
LOL

NP, I have days like that as well. :)

In the end, 'The War on Christmas' is just a device for fundraising. Kinda sad that it's sucked in some folks so effectively. http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/9399.html

BTW, I guess if there really _was_ this conflict, it's a civil war:
