Here's the problem: favorite for what? For example, there are planes I fly the most, which I like, but my reasons for flying them include my weird preference for flying planes with higher ENY values.

For me, an easier thing to say is what plane I fly most frequently, or if you were flying in WWII and could pick the plane you flew, what would you pick, etc.

The planes I fly most frequently are the F4U-1 and the P-47D-11. (I'm working on perhaps the P-38G, but I hate the darkened view through the front glass.)

The non-perk plane I'd pick if I had to fly it in a real WWII-style war (if it flew like they do here) would be the P-47N or P-51D.

The plane I like for most fun to fly just for angles fighting is probably the Spit V or the A6M5.

Yak-9u and Spit5 for air-to-air.

Yak-9t for that wonderful 37mm (one hit, you're dead) spud-gun.

I really, really enjoy flying the c47. I love trying to fly it down the channels in the trees.

I see a lot of people say the spit5, but all I ever see is the 9 or 16.

Post by: Nilsen on December 15, 2006, 07:10:26 AM: Used to be the Jugs back in AH1. Atm im having alotta fun in the 109s and 190s but i may fall back on the jugs later. One thing is for sure, and that is that flying the 109s with the very limited ammo and low velocity rounds (30mms) my aim is prolly better now than during all my years as a jug-o-holic. and it will benefit me if i eventually go back to the ammo-a-plenty jugs.

And no... the 50cals are not crap now.

109K4 for high alt buff intecepts.
190F8 for attack
Stuka or SBD for bombing.

And mix in the 190A8, 109G6,G2 a few jugs and the FM2 for carrier ops.

I love the fact that I can take the 9-T up and shoot down ppl with the 37mm.... (single shots 1 hit and they are gone :) )

When i was flying it i found out that 3 kills was a normal run 5 is a great run. I think the spit 16 is very close to the yak but the yak has speed on the 16. Their almost the same but in the 16 a 15 kill run can be done mutible times in one night.

Look up Yak attack on the bbs their is a write up that i did after i flew it for a camp.

You talk about the Yak, I did 14 in the La5 on one run, no vulch. That was two years ago though..... Now I get about 15 assists on one run with the dang thing.

Post by: Mark Luper on December 16, 2006, 12:06:04 PM: Even though I have a propensity of getting shot down a lot more than I land kills my favorites have allways been the 47's, preferably the D-11. I like the N model when I need to stay up a while.

My other favorite is the ME109G2. Always do well in that one and I'm not much of a 109 driver.

Off of a carrier my favorite is the FM2 but the new F4U-4 is proving to be fun also, I just need more time in it.
