I used to have the original Aces High on my computer, but back then I didn't have a good internet connection, I'd spend my time doing barrel rolls and such offline. After a renewed interest in aviation, I recently decided to download Aces High II, but I ran into a problem similar to the one I read in Wingman9's thread.
When I open up Aces High II, I run into a blank white screen followed by a "aceshigh.exe has encountered a problem and need to close" window that requests for an error report.
After acquiring different versions of the game and downloading a few patches, I managed to access the "select video card" screen on start up. Here (http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/9084/aceshighwr9.png)'s a screenshot to further clarify this.
I believe it may be an outdated video card, but I am not very sure of what to do in this case.
Here's further system information to aid in deciphering this problem.
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU 1200 MHz
Memory: 254 RAM
Page file: 267 MB used, 257 MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Sorry if this is considered a duplicate topic. I felt posting in Wingman9's was hijacking. Thanks. :)

I think if you typed that video card name into the search, you'd find it won't run. You whole system unfortunately is just over the bare minimuim and I think you'll have nothing but trouble trying to run AH2, sorry :(

I exchanged a couple of emails with the support guys, and I found out that the I need a driver upgrade. Even with the upgrade I was told I'd experience a lot of problems. :(
I'll keep on doing my barrel rolls in the original AH, if anyone could tell me where I can obtain it.

Dude I'm running AMD 1.2 Gig with 512 DDR SDRAM and an NvIdia FX5500 vid card , my page file is 256 also and max is set WAY up , sound acceleration is set to 1/2 , in windows im running performace only when I right click my computer and go to properties/ advanced/ Performanc/ Settings ... and i check marked performance.
I do have some issues when it comes to GVz but over all im running the game at 256 and 1024x768 screen , I set my refresh rate to 100 and i usually get 40ish up in the air and 7 to 30 on the ground.
But over all I'm happy with the way it runs.
Check your drivers and dont give up.

I'll do a bit of research and see what I can come up with. If all fails, I'll join you guys when I have enough money for a new computer :0
