Title: Dear Santa HT
Post by: Helm on December 16, 2006, 11:31:31 AM
Santa HT I have been a very good boy this year!  I have done my best to be positive about game changes.  I have supported game changes with my actions and my comments and have done all that I can to help make the new game practices a success

1) I have flown in MW/purple since its inception, trying to help bolster sagging attendance.  Even if nobody is there, I still go to MW hoping to help the arena’s chances of survival.

2)  I always join the team that has fewer numbers.

3) I try to help new players by answering their questions.

4) I don’t give head on’s

5)  I ***** out folks who play the alt-f4 joke on new players.

6)  I don’t not talk trash on ch200.

7)  I don’t steal kills.

8) I try to watch my language and attitude, thereby keeping the game a family friendly atmosphere.

9)  I try to embrace the games changes, and help people to understand the positive aspects of the changes.

10)  I try my best to lead by example and to help Ace’s become better.

My Wish for Christmas!! …..Santa HT….can I …please…please….please get a Mig-3 for Christmas??? ….the one with the pretty Red Arrow on the side??? ….oh please!!!!

God Bless ya…and Merry Christmas!!

My question is, will they be able to make it, now that Nate's gone??? LOL

Joking. It would be a great test for his successor, though.

The mig3 soulds like a c202.

Mig-3 saw lots of action, many of the Soviet’s top Aces got their start in it. With over 3100 units produced there was plenty to go around.

The comparison between the Mig-3 and the C.202 being similar, is true as far as the fire power is concerned.  Mig-3 would easily out perform the C.202 14k and above.

The best Mig-3 story I have read stated, that early in the war many I-16 units received it as a an upgrade.  The story stated that the I-16 pilots were afraid of the Mig-3 and so they did not fly them, preferring to fly their war-weary I-16’s instead because they knew the I-16 and trusted it. Evidently a few pilots has tried the Mig-3 and had accidents trying to learn it, so Mig-3’s began to pile up on bases and just sit there doing nothing.  When word of this got out,  the Inspector General of the Soviet Air Force,  sent a top Mig-3 pilot around to give the pilots a pep talk and put on an air show showing the pilots what a great plane it was compared to the I-16.  The story states that after the show pilots lined up to have a go at the Mig-3.

Wow!..A Soviet fighter who's performance increases with altitude.!

It would be a great addition to AH.

You wouldnt want a MiG-3, unless for nostalga's sake.

The reason early Soviet aces  speak of it is because the I-16 and the I-153 were so hoplessely obsolete by 1941, and the MiG-3 was one of the few designs that were more up to date.

Its handling was considered poor, nothing like a C202 (its 1000 lbs heavier) it would be easily outmanuevered by most of the MA planeset. Speed wise it wasnt too bad, but for the MA? nothing special. Rate of turn was not great, nor was its climb rate. Armament was also lackluster. It had decent speed at high alt, for a 1941 fighter (its only shining point), but in the MA it would be a "grape" (easily squished).

Think Soviet P-39.

...Now, Yak-3, that was a beauty (speed, climb, handling, vision), and would at least see some action.

I fly MW ...I have little care how the Mig-3 would stack up in the MA.  The point of asking for it was because it existed and fought in the War  In great numbers, and i'd like to see it.

...I never claimed it would be the best fighter in the game ....gee whiz

.....by your standards why do we have a f4f? ....or a Hurricane I ?...they don't do too well in the MA either?? ...maybe we should get rid of all planes that dont rule MA??

I guess by your standard we can forget about the ki-43....ki-44 ....I-16 ....Ki-27 etc etc ....because they wont do well In the MA either

P39? ....I got a news flash for ya ....p39 was not liked either and it would get its butt handed to it in the MA as well.  I well aware of the Soviet aces who flew the p39 ...I have 3 books on the subject

Helm has listed at least 9 things that  95% of the people on AH  cant claim,  so I say give'm what he ask for and make it fast!

Before he changes his mind and starts doing 8 outa the 10 things he listed.  :)

I say keep Helm happy and on the path he taking!  hehe!  :p

The only difference between a brown-noser and an a**-kisser is depth perception.
