Is there some kind of small program that could disable everything I don't
need in processes to be play AH. Something that would leave only what is needed to function properly. I have way too many "43" of them running. Including Symantec antivirus. Do I have to disable all of these manually everytime i want to play? It works but it's kind of a pain. Thanks

FSautostart is one program that works great. Do a google search for it. It can be set-up so that you just click one button and it will clear your ram, stopp all the programs and services that you select for it to stop, and then start the game by its self. Once you are done the game, it will restart ALL programs and services that you stopped automatically.
Also, should you shut off the wrong thing, the program doesn't make any changes to your system, so a re-boot will put everything back to the way it was.

Right click and save here (http://hells-angels.us/ah/fsasv1111.zip)

I downloaded FSautostart based on this post and went from 55-65 FR to 84 (monitor is 85 refresh rate). And that's still with 31 processes running and I'm sure some non-essential programs. Easy to use and you CAN'T screw up your system since you can do a manual reboot if you stop an essential system. FSautostart does not run at the initial boot, so you will boot your system as normal. Best of all, after exiting AH, the program will automatically restart all the stoped processes if you tell it too. Sweet! :aok

I have a list for both xp home and xp pro. Its and excel spreadsheet. Give me your email addy and I will send it to ya.
The spread sheet gives your default settings for both home and pro. It also gives u bare minimum and power user settings. And last thing it gives ya is safe settings.

http://www.tweakhound.com/xp/xptweaks/supertweaks6.htm
Try this website. Basically has same info I have.
BTW, keep in mind that the services on these lists are only from windows. Any services that are in your list but not on these list are from programs u have installed (ex. Norton antivirus, spysweeper, disk keeper, mcafee etc....)

Roger That, Mr. Dogg.
The norton etc process' are pretty well noted. It's the MS stuff that baffles me because it makes no sense to this computer dweeb, and Ijust know I would shut down something that will really mess me up.
Thanks again.
(Also at work)

Another program that might be easier to use to really speed the computer up is called XP Smoker.
http://www.xp-smoker.com/
I currently testing this program out and I like it. Lots of tweaks u can do with this thing including opening up windows to use the full cache of your l2 cache on your processor. Default size that windows uses of the l2 cache is 256k. My processor has 1024k. This tweak made the computer alot faster.

MWDogg, could u send me this list as well. Thanks
