AL Queda = worms?

Gordian worm live inside crickets for long periods, feeding on the cricket's diet. Once fully grown, they inject chemicals into the cricket's brain brainwashing it and forcing it to kill itself by jumping into the water. Once in water, the worm wriggles out of the writhing body and swims off in search of a mate

And now, (ripping open envelope) ... the Oscar for Best Documentary: Worst Guest of the Holiday Season ... Gordian Worm!
and the Oscar for Best Original Score, posthumorously: Jiminy Cricket!

Buy him a lizard. He'll enjoy watching crickets being consumed. :)

What happens if there is no body of water around? Does the cricket just mope and weep endlessly in dispair?
-
There's a similar worm that works with ants. It forces the ant to suicide herself by going on the weed the sheep is eating. Then the parasite develops itself in the sheep, reaching several feet.:huh :huh

We have a turtle. (Red Eared Slider)
Things will eat just about anything.
Even ate a live Bee once
Anything we find crawling inside or outside the house is fresh food for the turtle

Here is the science behind the type of behavioral manipulation used by this parasite.

it would probably be feasible to utilize this parasite in teaching children to swim

I watched that french video. It had some interesting ideas.
Like that disease infested insects bite more then non infected insects.
