Title: Hiding behind armor

Does hunching down below the armor plate work?  If a ship with light weaponry is to your eight oh clock firing at you, and you lean off to the right, does it make a difference?  Or do the bullets "think" you're always in the same place even if your view has moved?  In other words, if you lean your head all the way to one side and a bullet passes right where your head was, will the game register a hit or a miss?
