Title: New UNT Head Coach
Post by: rpm on December 20, 2006, 01:30:07 AM
Former UT-QB Todd Dodge leaves Southlake-Carroll HS after an impossible 78-1 run to jump to NCAA 1-A. I predict many good things to come to the Mean Green!

Wow, I've sorta watched his success at HS.   He should DEFINATELY bring some "fervor" to that team.

did you hear about the BS with the "matress king" donating a million dollars to have some new sports complex built and he insisted that it be named after the coach they just fired?

bah  UNT is so poor that they will just shrug off the outcry and take the money. and i have a feeling that the new coach will be admitted to the hospital for blunt force trauma after he beats his head against a wall. UNT football aint nothing like southlake,  thats a big talent pool with a ton of money.

Darrell Dickey did a great job turning UNT around, he just ran out of steam. I don't have a problem with them naming a facility after him, especially after the way he was fired. But, that's the way the pigskin bounces.

I see Dodge doing very well at UNT, but he won't be there long. As soon as he shows he can coach and win at NCAA Division 1, a big school will hire him away from UNT. I would not be surprised to see him wind up back at UT after Mack Brown leaves.
