Under those circumstances?  Probably one in the EU, closely followed by the USA.

Question - how on earth do you figure this thread isn't going to turn ugly?

Heck no.  Somewhere in Scandinavia.  8 months vacation, 4 day work week, free healthcare and chips, nice long nights with the Swedish Bikini Charity Team...

**** yeah, Scandinavia.

A secret little Pacific island with perfect temperature, perfect water, perfect surf, perfect breeze, sufficient local food and produce, clothes optional, several nubile companions, solar laptop internet access, perfect bliss, and perfect gills for the inevitable tsunami.

The problem is that most modern countries don't want poor people.  You can't naturalize to Canada, for example, without at least a two year degree, $50k in the bank, and proof of employment.  Imagine the crying if the US had that sort of an immigration policy.

Yeah, I know.  Read about it yourself

IF that description fits me, I'd cross the border to USA from Mex.  To get a job in the US i will have to show how hard I work so I can get hired.

PS:  In the real world, no country would ever take poor, uneducated, and inexperienced people.

Yeah, it's a shame about all those little paradisical islands and tsunamis.  I vaguely remember a documentary awhile back that looked at a bunch of islands and pointed out how most are periodically swept clean by big waves or winds or both, which is why so many are never populated very long (assuming they are large enough to have enough water and other resources to sustain even meager populations).

That made me recall a cruise to several Caribbean islands, comparatively large, seeing some inevitable trash here and there, and thinking how hurricanes and tsumanis are nature's vacuum cleaners, power washers, and leaf blowers, and most of the debris ends up somewhere in the briny deep.

If Earth ever drains dry, what a mess will emerge in every stream and ocean bed.  Although even then, it's a big planet, and we might be more surprised to see how little we mattered after all.

No you couldn't. You don't have the credentials. You want to work, so right off the bat you don't qualify. You need to be a former employee of a third world government and/or responsible for torture or murder of your fellow citizens and are under sentence or threat of death for these activities, or you are a self-proclaimed "ex" drug/war lord with a list of former victims & current enemies who are looking to kill you. If you aren't/weren't either of these it's the back of the line for you, bud. Unless of course you happen to be (or can reasonably make the claim to be) a hair-lipped, mentally/physically challenged, lesbian performance artist intending to cover yourself in human feces for a living. In that case we'll give you citizenship and a small fortune as you step across the border and pay your rent while you're here.

BTW, you can't be a newfie if you can't eat scrunchions or make & cook cod cheeks while drinking screech, or know what "stay where you're to and I'll come where your at" means without having the think about it.

Millions of poor, uneducated, unskilled Mexicans choose to come to the USA year after year - so we know at least the USA provides a suitable environment for improvement to these people.

Kiwilandia.

British dominion so no switch in form of government.  Queen is still on the cash.  Lots of ocean for swimming/fishing.  Mountains for skiing.  Great education system.  And most importantly, I could once and for all say a big, "**** you", to northern hemisphere international politics.

On the downside, I would have to put up with the absolutely ugliest federal legislative building in history of civilization.

At times, the only one of those four that I had was school. So it could apply to me.

There are two possible answers there. One if you intend to stay poor or are too dumb and lazy to better yourself. Then the answer is to move in beside Nilsen. Norway is the place to be. You will be looked after from all those high taxes Nilsen pays. In fact Nilsen probably pays so much tax that he's probably keeping a family of Gypsies in Champagne right now. Failing that then one of the other Scandinavian countries who favour high taxes and birth to death social welfare. The high tax system works great for them because of course Scandinavians are in general hard workers and earn enough to afford taxes. Thus you can sponge off them easily.

On the the other hand if you want to work hard and better yourself and even have two jobs at once. Then you have a choice of mostly English speaking countries like the USA, UK, Australia and of course my own little country. If you want sunshine then it has to be the USA or Oz.

Of course the question is loaded, the answer is supposed to be the USA. So I'll be awkward and say Ireland. (Well I would, wouldn't I:aok )

Or you could translate that as to having two or three jobs at once i.e. having no life and still be poor. :D

I prefer to do one job, get paid and lie down on the sofa while the American dreamer takes on his second of his three jobs. :D

Sweden would be my guess.
I once offered a job to an unemployed Swede, - I got no thanks.
(the Dole and accomodation was better than what I had to offer)

While you're right about the last three, many people ARE born with the first one.  When you're born with the first one, not having the last three doesn't matter.

Just being american will get you a long way in eastern europe.

Just being blond and blue eyed will get you a long way in latin america, korea or japan.

Just hook up with some mediocre chick with a job who want's a blue eyed baby. Former warsaw pact countries you couldn't mooch off of a woman as easily, you'd have to get a job. But that wouldn't be hard for a native english speaker with modern skills. In most modern countries having a car is more of a bothersome accessory than a usefull mode of transportation. Even in mexico public transportation is cleaner, more efficient and cheaper than US public transportation. Having a masters in psych would be a good advantage also, like an extensive survival course for the urban enviornment.

oops, you said no education or skills

Well without any skills you can't even be a prostitute, and you can't even volunteer for medical testing because you can't read the consent form. So as a full grown infant, your uselessness is pretty much universal.
