Ive been around a lil while in AH but Ive never seen anything like i had tonight.
So im messin around in one of the LW and some how or another we and player (X) argue over somthin or another i dont member what says hes a vet bla bla bla been here for 3 years is a FW ace....So we take a trip to the DA.
First fight Ive got my hopes up kinda u know ooo boy here we go this should actually be a fun fight!!! If hes really good this will be fun!
Well first fight he brings a 163 and BNZ's me till he runs out of Ammo and auger saying the exact words "When I want to Fight I will Fight" so im think oo boy so he says he is coming back out to give me a gooed fight!!! Im thinkin yes the first thing was jsut a joke now this should be good!!
The second plane he brings out is a Fw 190 im like yes finally a fight !!! thank you!!!!! So we merge he Hoes ...I avoid the Ho and get on his 6 oclock ping him up a bit cant seem to finsih him off the player (X) decides to Run!! in the DA not only Run!! but Run to his feild ack!!!! In the dueling arena i cant belive my eyes im just baffaled at what ive seen so he lands his smoking bird all beat up while i wait NOE of of feild ack range and wait mabey hell up again!!! but no player (X) says there r no rules in the DA.
I was just amazed at the level of dweebeness and it hit man there have been a lot more people like this on latly the skill level i feel has decressed in the arenas its hard to get a 1 vrs 1 fight anymore So i started thinking to my self are things just getting worse and worse with the Newer players in aces high????
(On a second note)
So I was thinking HTC is there some way or some how we can get the newer players (2 weekers to 1 month) to go through some sorta Skill building process mabey like a class a week jsut to show the very basics...Sorta how to play the game like take feilds....pork bomb ect.......Im seeing more and more often questions on country chat where do i drop troops ...how do i take a base........whats a fighter?? I see some players trying to help but others jsut "lol newbs" (Im sure ive done the same thing) ..but this is jsut an idea thoughts???? I mean heck I go into the DA sometimes to help out but no ones ever there!! I mean heck If we can set up some sorta class or somthin ill even offer to help set it up!!

Youre assuming those guys want to make an EFFORT to learn.
Sadly, my experience is that a good percentage of new players just wants to learn which button/key makes them turn better/kill quicker, but do not care for more then a little effort. The ones that are serious about wanting to learn have every opportunity to do so.

Weird, was the guy playing the same game as you? I'm stating the obvious here but the gentleman's rules in the DA are long standing and time honored.

Things havent changed at all. There are still those that honor the unwritten DA rules and respect their opponent (no matter win or lose or Ego). And there are still those that dont.

I remember a time that we went to the DA goldie and you ran from my spit cause i out turned your hurri. not sayin what he did was cool but hey why whine about it. you just learned that hes not better then you. so what move on. and giving out his name is not mean its actually going to be funny when we find out who it is. i thinkin it was Paccer

i had a similar experience in the DA.
unnamed pilot takes credit for 3 vulches he didn't get(i assume he got assists or asked who was the tard getting vulched) and then procedes to berate me on 200 for my lack of ability, i promptly challange him to a duel. after he avoids the challange for about 10 min proclaiming he is having too much fun almost vulching me(he has yet to shot me down.
he finally agrees to DA once there(me being the challanger i give him field choice and plane selection) he choses the 15k bases and p-51's(should have been a clue to his particular play style but i continue on) I flew to HIS base to find him at 20k circling the field. he made a HO pass and missed i split S cause he has already started his dive run. he pulls up and i gain his 6 at about 400.
i took 1 of his airlerons despite his stick stirring but i cant quite finish him off. so his next ACM is to dive for his field ack!! i was shocked and amazed, and stupidly i follow him thru 3 passes thru the ack and am shot down.
i digustedly return to the Blue and there he is proclaiming his amazing victory on 200.
now i've only been playing for 9 months but there is definetly a larger contingent of inept players. i suspect there will always be a percentage of garbage among the gold but lately it seems to have gone up.

Definitely agree. Some noobs don't have the patience to understand that this game takes patience to understand.

when i was trained in the game i was told that anything goes in the main arena
and in the DA you set up the fight and you follow the instructions on where it is as far as alt goes
you find out if you can Ho or not
and once you get the rules you follow them to the tee
if there is a disagreement on how the fight went instead of arguing just have the fight reset and re-up
^if you follow those rules win or lose you should gain respect
ive also been told that the man who looses his cool first looses the argument

you talk alot of bravado on ch200 and call out this and that player but your kinda full of it yourself to be honest. the player inquestion in this thread only went to DA because you hassled him that he was 'more of a noob than you were'.

ballistics and lethality are differend from ah1 .check 225-250 for start,
and fly near, very near.
in ah1 i was used to kill from 500-600 yards. not anymore.

Bat for what it is worth ive been trying to get better Ive tryed working on Turn/stall fighting with Biggles Creton ect...I go to the DA with members of the 56th all the time i go in get my ares handed to me every fight with out even getting a ping on them go watch the film... try to find my mistake then go right back at it. So the getting better part im trying to do jsut going to take some time compared to you guys that got like what 4 5 or even 6 years of flight gameing in ya? But i feel the best way to learn is to go into the DA and get completly killed like u did to me the other night in spit5s (Was looking at film on ur first kill was amazed at the shot u pulled think ill post a pick u where like hanging sideways poped me from 400 out in the wing!)
But like i said bat trying to get better jsut will take some time :)

It's good that you're working on your skills. Make sure you work every bit as hard at the other two!

May I interject with 2 observations.
1) When we are lucky enough to experience holiday seasons, Christmas, bank holidays and the dreaded "School" brake we are blessed with an influx of newbies. Not all suffer from LMF (lack of moral fibre) but we do endure a larger percentage at these times.
2) You will also observe some so called "veteran" players setting a very bad example. By which I mean suicide dive bombing level bombers and low level bombing of towns, hangers and Gv's uncalibrated.
Nintendo kid See's vets antics, puts 2 an 2 together and we get the birth of a 2 weeker with a large dose of LFM and newbie is none the wiser. These err antics will permeate through all aspects of play. :(

Nice that they are teaching you how to fight ... now take another lesson from them and chill out on the 200 smack talk. You never see Nomde talkin crap on 200 ... follow the example of your leader ... its way more important than being the best fighter pilot in AH.
Nomde and others you have mentioned let their guns do the talking ... in time, you may gain the same respect that they have in the game ... but puffing your chest out on 200 and on the BBS will gain little respect, no matter how good you are IMHO.

Two things Husky
1. I've DA you for dueling ladder and you hoed twice and won.
2. You also ran twice saying you where blacking out why I dont know you where going straight and level.
I didn't complain just figured it was wrong since I NEVER ho in da if its not a 6 shot I dont take it.
So whoever this x player is why give him a hard time you do the same.

i have..believe it or not "husky" beaten some of the best in here 1v1 but dont race here to tell everyone..i dont even tell my teamates...squadies nobody..because..who cares? nobody really. you want a name for your self you got it. ok? your the best ever..ok? feel better now. now get over it.
yea i went to DA w/you and stunk up the joint. i'm too emotional in DA. i fight better when i have no idea who i fight. i beat your spit in a 38'.who'd i tell nobody. all i did was go back to MA and told everyone not to go inthere right now 'cause i just stunk up the joint.

Ft the fuel burn rate in the DA is lower then the MA so 25% in a P-40 will get u like 20 min or so of flight 100 will give u like 75 min of fuel but im not sure if it effects the porfurmanjce of ur plane or not couse if u fly with 100% in MA it should still feel like 100% in the DA other whise not sure whats wrong

Yes, one of the reasons why I don't go to DA much. The planes feel real heavy and sluggish there in DA vers MA. I notice it alot in the hog. Stalls real easy there compared to the MA.

What a crock! This statement is so laughable! I went to the DA with FTDEEP and he didnt show so me and another fella started dueling. I notice a blip coming in from the other sector and tell the guy Im fighting, "its prolly some newb because he looks like hes site seeing in the DA" I beat the guy I was fighting and we were fighting spitV's. I then noticed the blip was within Icon range, it was a spit and it was coming towards me as I was trying to get some speed back up on the deck! It was a spit16 and it dove in on me. I rolled him but didnt have E to chase him up and shoot him. THis was rinsed and repeated 3 or 4 times until finally the 16 got me right wing. As I fell into the dirt I read System: FTDEEP has shot you down. Then on 200 FTDEEP types ha ha I win now back to the MA! FTDEEP is exactly the kind of player that Husky was posting about! As a matter of fact as I read this post I waas thinking to myself, I bet this guy he's talking about was FTDEEP! For DEEP to come on here and even give an opinion abut dueling is hilarious! FTDWEEEB fits the profile oof the original post!@

you need to chose the right base. some bases ar 15k alt and thats not good for flying imo.
edit: skyrock i think FTdeep just doesnt like most people unless they give him a reason to.
ive had some good one on ones with him in the MA and hes been sociable about them with me. had a real good one me p51 him p38 about 3 weeks ago.

lol no dogg the planes fly the same.. its just that some of the bases are 15k and have a 10k deck so obviously at those bases the planes are going to feel different.. otherwise its just your paranoia..
PS why you join my ladder and not challenge anybody? :mad: I didnt start it up just for chits and giggles

This is a good reason to give the kid half a chance. I went to the DA with him the other day and he told me who he was. He made no excuses about what he did and gave me the impression he was trying to start over with a clean slate. I would say keep in mind he does not have to do this. Maybe it will work out for him.

That because I have been challenged by wannab but we having trouble getting together. He doesn't get on till I logging for the night,lol. He on west coast, I east coast. I guess will try this weekend.
And I know about the bases in DA. I talking about the 5k bases. The planes feel different in there. All planes tend to wing dip more there espescially the hogs.

Your not going crazy Dogg ... I flew the FM not too long ago in there and it was flopping all over like a fish out of water. I was flying it no different than how I fly it in the MA (at the same speeds too).

Maybe widewing or some other plane testers out there would do us a favor and do arena comparisons on a few planes. Check to see if some planes perform different between MA and DA. check for turning ability, zoom climb, acceleration, top speed, climb rate, etc...

I really don't understand why this is funny. Is it humorous to use girls in a derrogatory way? What next, cripples, old people, blacks, asians, or jews? Sure, it's light-hearted humor. I'm fairly certain that the few females who play this game probably don't think girl jokes are funny, and an apology would be nice. Well as a woman it doesnt bother me at all. To be compared to the wonderful Girl Scouts is a compliment. Although their cookies have gone downhill.

Actually, when its in good humour (like it is most of the time), i can laugh about those jokes. Heck, i myself joke about the "Male Ego" half the time, isnt that derogatory too? No harm in joking about girls - and if someone says: "youre flying like a little girl" I say thanks for that compliment, we all know girls are the better intuitive pilots :p.
Also, im sometimes *very* tempted to tell the mr-toughguy in his P51 that hes currently running scared from a little girl :). Shoot a Lady in the back, will you? Dang those gentlemen arent what they used to be..... :D
I guess what i want to say is: Its all about the attitude behind it. Other than that, you cannot be PC *all* the time.... that just doesnt work. I have never once been really offended as a female in AH. On the contrary, often even the loudmouths go out of their way to "hold the virtual door open".

I'm fairly certain that the few females who play this game probably don't think girl jokes are funny, and an apology would be nice. People who use these kinds of "jokes" aren't necessarily racist or sexist. It's part of a problem in our culture. However, if you were transplanted back into the "separate but equal" era, would you go along with the jokes or find some other way to be funny?
