Title: Video/Audio Compression - Encoding
Post by: Schatzi on January 01, 2007, 11:04:15 AM
So far ive been just using the standard WMM compression to WMV files to render my films. Id like to use a more effective Codec for better quality though - from my research, DivX5 sounds like the best option.

Can someone help me with a link to instructions and/or a step-by-step rundown of what i need to do after saving the uncompressed AVI from WMM?

Any help for this computer dork is much appreciated :)

use this program for compression. Its free!  VirtualDub (http://www.virtualdub.org/download)
after installing just click on the video tab, then click on compression. Select whatever codec you like.
After that click on the file menu and click Save as AVI...
That should do it.:aok
