Title: Could not connect to host...
Post by: sntslilhlpr6601 on January 03, 2007, 01:32:54 PM
hey guys. after a couple months of not playing AH i decided to subscribe again, but the game isn't connecting. firefox and all my other online games are working perfectly. the only thing different since last time i played is i bought a new gfx card and another half a gig of ram but i doubt that would keep it from finding the server. i already tried reinstalling and that didn't do ****. anyone have an idea?

perhaps allow your antivirus programs to allow access to the internet for Aceshigh.exe??

What version of Aces High do you have?

They did move the server a while ago, to a new adress after version 2.08. Any earlier version will not be able to connect to the server. You have to uninstall and download the newest version from http://www.hitechcreations.com.

Im not sure if you can keep your custom settings doing that, as the game interface has also been changed. Id assume at least the hps files (head positions) can be reused. Joystick files (former stick.cfg) and video8.cfg can definitly NOT be just moved over.

Also, like Bloodaxe already mentioned, make sure your Firewall and AntiVirus allow full web access for Aces High.

Welcome back :).

When youre done, try to run AH in OFFLINE mode.... if that works, but online mode doesnt theres some problem with AH connecting to the net.

Also, let us know where EXACTLY it stops connecting.

when allowing aces high thru your virus protection how do you do it?

If you use the IP addresses, I think the loggin stuff is on one server, and the arenas are on another. Be sure to check this info from Skuzzy in the sticky above.....

Early, Mid, Late War Main Arena Server Address: 206.16.60.39
All other arenas: 206.16.60.38
The current port range for all arenas in Aces High is 2000-6000, inclusive, for UDP and TCP. Aces High will use a random subset of those ports for all online play (8 Player included).
