The Canadian government did a detailed research program into the effects of drugs and alcohol on spiders, mostly on the what effects the drugs and booze would have on web making.  It's actually quite fascinating how drugs effected not only the web making but also the social interaction of the spider.

turns out the effects are pretty similar to the effects on humans by the same substances, thanks for posting.
