Okies... I'm flying last night and suddenly my stick control just goes poof and I go whirling into the ground. This happened numerous times. I had loaded the new Nividia drivers and thats when this problem SEEMed to of started... I noticed it seemed like the PC was herky jerky, or bogging down and the sound would like "pop" as it lost control? The stick is wired through my sound card and I turned the MIDI off. I havent checked the interrupts. I have download directx8, and defragged my hard drive last night.
I did a test flight this morning before work off line but I dont than this is stressing the system for a good test.
I was wondering if maybe the vid card drivers simply where causing my PC to load up to much maybe..or perhaps there's an option i need to turn off in the card? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure you have the latest sound card drivers, especially for the SB Live cards. The older ones don't do well with DX8 in my experience.
As for nVidia's Det drivers... well lots of folks have had a variety for problems. I'd use whatever the latest WHQL approved Dets are.
If those things don't solve it, you may have a resource coflict between your sound and video cards, or some other devices.

Well those MS sidewinders are tough but they aint THAT tough. I gotta fix the hole in my wall.
I went out and bought a new stick. A MS Sidewinder Precision 2 USB port Joystick. It rocks. I think the USB port got rid of all my spiking... must be due the direct pipe to the Mother Board bus? Anyway I'm happy... now if i can just land...

P.S. I'm pretty sure you where right about the conflict with Soundbalster card. I just fiqured the USB would be a big improvment and would avoid THAT whole issue totaly.

Rgr that Batdog, I did the exact same thing. I have my old Sidewinder 3D Pro kicking around on my server box just in case, but I bought a new Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 USB to avoid the gameport issues.
BTW, if you are looking for any training, please drop me an email at sconrad@hfx.eastlink.ca. We can do some training if you wish and work on getting you to land more. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
