there's a company called north american top gun, i think they are based in st. augustine.  they do the same thing as that video but use at6 texans.

they tour the country. you book your flight in advance.

i flew with them about 2 years ago in new hampshire.

its no p-51, but awsome just the same

they video tape it for you

and yes!!!  once above 1k--the plane is yours if you choose to fly it.

i did.

aprox. 40 minute flight with video and aerobatic manuvers==  $ 495.00

worth every penny.

took my brother with me--in a separate plane-- awesome

something you,ll never forget!!!:aok

There is actually another company based in Kissimee that will allow you to take out modern day stunt planes, fitted with laser targeting systems, and go dogfight with your friends (minus the burning wreckage).  I think that one was about $3000 for the experience, including an hour of flight time.

"North American Top Gun"

And here (http://www.natg.com/) they are. The cockpit frame of the Texan looks similar to the Fw190. If you live in the UK there's a similar company here (http://www.warbirdexperiences.co.uk/index.html), also flying Texans, although we called them Harvards. Gary Numan, the new wave pop star who did "Cars", used to own and fly one of them. I bet there are lots of wishlist threads about it. The Harvard, that is.

The company in Kissimmee with two s's, two m's, and two e's must surely be Warbird Adventures (http://www.warbirdadventures.com/). They also have a Texan, and one of the Bell helicopters from MASH. Their prices are cheaper in Florida dollars than in New York dollars - you people should adopt a unified currency, it would help your economy compete. No mention of combat, though, although several other companies offer this. Kizza Me is a song by Big Star.

I wonder if the adversary aircraft pilots pull their punches, like in Westworld. Rich people don't like to be thwarted and humiliated.

If you want to fly a dual-control P-51 there's this place (https://www.stallion51.com/). They offer "Unusual Attitude Training". There's nothing about prices that I can find, but then again if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it.

Title: Bomber rides
Post by: chancevought on January 07, 2007, 10:52:41 PM
Collings Foundation has a B-17, B24, and B-25 that tour the country and give rides.  It's $425 for a ride in the B-17, but u can ride in the waist position of the B-25 for $350.  Looks awesome and have already begged girlfriend to pay for it when they come thru Florida next month.
They also have an F-4D Phantom II, but no price shown means it's probly quite pricey.

And did I mention Me 262?  That's right, they say they will have one of the Me 262 replica's being made, I believe, in Washington state.  Better tell the kids to forget college.  And Granma's gonna have to sell her home for the next flight!!!

I've done a couple of rides on the Collings Foundation B-24.  It was the ride of a lifetime for me.  Here's what it was like:
