Yet another area of my public school education debunked.  And to think that I thought I was clever because I knew that the rotation of the earth determined the direction of a vortex...

I never knew that the coriolis effect on sinks was debunked.  Shock horror. I have to say the issue never really exercised my mind much. I was amused at the somewhat angry tone of the writer in the link. I wonder what he's like when something serious is under discussion.:eek:
