In a VERY brief search I pulled up these:

III/JG54 (http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/231/2/0/1)

or a more typical winter camo:

I./JG54 (http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/231/2/2/28)

Basically, look for units that served in Barbarossa. JG54 is one of the more prominent units (or perhaps just the more well known units).

Well if you replace the brown with the color green.  You can call it a III./JG54 Winter of 1942.

Do you want an all white version?  Just ask.:)

No info supplied on it. Which is a major drawback for a website that simply takes from other webpages. Not the most reliable of sources.

Like I said, a very brief search.

just wondering i dont need it in any big hurry it will probably be a while before this thing is even close to looking like the real plane

dont tell anyone but it looks like a cow skin

experimenting with colors right now
although i was told that it looked good for someone having only spent about an hour on it

I just hand-copied the defaults. I didn't look up historic rivet patterns or anything.

I'm not very familiar with gimp. I use Photoshop 5. The thing with camo is to use a softer brush or to blur that layer after-the-fact.

Nick, I've going to start skinning my first skin this week.

I've been told that you need to try to blur that layer to smooth out the stairstep jagged edges you are getting.

Also, make sure your skin size is 1024x1024 and it may be best to have your game set to 1024x1024 texture size so you may see your skin in it's finest quality in the game.

do you guys know of any freeware that can do the stuff that photoshop can do i am working on a trial version and not only is it a limited time it is limited as far as tools go

of freakin course

its a big company and god forbid they give you a what you get if you purchase version  like the smaller company's do

and i dont have the 600 bucks to throw out for photoshop (even if i did i would spend it on a new power supply since mine is crapping out and with the extra upgrade my pc)       i digress
sooooooooo.....
any thoughts

getting something weird going on here i make most of the skin in gimp cause it has layers

and then i blur the lines on the cammo  in the trial photoshop and once i save it when i am done i try to go into offline to see what it looks like and every time i modify it in photoshop i get this bug that makes the skin invisible

what the heck

No need to take it out of GIMP for a blur.  Under the filter menu of GIMP, there's a Blur and Gaussian Blur options.  Play around with it to see what a good setting is.  I typically use a 2.0-5.0 gaussian blur for mine, depending on the effect I'm looking for.

Make sure you either have the layer or whatever object you want to blur selected before you apply the filter.  Otherwise, it will do nothing.  I recommend going to http://www.gimp.org and working through the tutorials they have to learn how to use it.

In photoshop I used the pencil tool, set to size 1 brush, spacing set to 400% or more likely 500%. I then click once, let go, hold SHIFT and click again elsewhere. Photoshop fills in between the two points with a line of dots. I then use smaller shift-clicks to make compound curves. It looks convincing enough in the end result, but is really multiple (shorter) straight lines.
