Well, I have to say I am liking the new model more and more. I think it's going to be an amazing car. Yes, I know this is still a styling concept but I think it looks really good.

the camaros have been screwed up
i thought they wouldnt put me through these crappy body designs anymore
i dont like the convertible too much but i do like the side of the silver one
and interior looks bad prettythang
i have a suggestion
i think you should go another way like for instance
go with a 67 camaro
hell make is a super sport
maybe a rally sport

I hate the nose of the new Camaro. If they'd straighten it out like in the picture nick posted then I'd like it a whole lot better.
The Challenger, though, is amazing.
-
Maybe its just me.
But I think the new camaro hints very strongly at the 67
Photoshop a chrome bumper on the front
And a rear spoiler and I thiey'd be damn near idetical
Note I did say "near" identical. not EXACT
-
The new Camaro is intended very obviously to look like the 69 Camaro. The reason it doesn't look MORE like the 69 Camaro is that an independent artist drew a better rendering and GM probably didn't want to pay him. But the front end, with the larger "peak", and the "gills" in front of the rear wheel wells are dead giveaways that they are going for the 69 look (the front of the 69 Camaro is more pointed than the 67 and 68). The short deck lid is exagerrated, and the front clip is a little short as well, but it is not proportional. Even the "sawtooth" instruments in the console (a useless feature in 69, and just as useless now) is a dead giveaway as well.

I wish they would have built this one-

That is badass and I'm primarily a Ford guy. That Challenger is sweet!

I hope we get them for patrol cars again....

Both the Chevy and Dodge look like they will be very big and very heavy cars...

The Camaro won't be that big or that heavy. I think they're shooting for a curb weight of 3200# wet. That's not heavy for a car with over 400HP.
-
Chrysler has said they are having trouble coming up with a v6 Challenger that can be priced within $5K of the V6 Mustang. Chevrolet has the same issue and is considering not even offering a V6 Camaro.
You may be wondering why that matters, since most of us would only consider the R/T or Z28 version anyhow. But the fact of the matter is that the Camaro/Firebird were cancelled because they could not sell enough V6s to make the V8s profitable. Ford sells 5+ V6 mustangs for every V8. Some say they barely break even on a V8 sale, so without the volume and profit from the V6 versions these cars (pony cars, where big V8s are stuffed into cheap 2-door bodies) are doomed, at least for the long term.
I do like that Challenger, but I wonder how much different the production Camaro will be from the prototype. I know it wont look like that though, hopefully they wont detune the design too much, becuase it does look nice if perhaps a little "busy".

You guys have obviously never tried to drive one in the snow LOL
Dunno about these new ones. but if they are anything like the old ones...
GREAT summer/fair weather cars.
HORRENDOUS in the snow.
You spend alot of time going in directions you dont necessarily desire to go in. Even with really good tires

Dont ya just hate that.
Manucaturers come out with really GREAT concept designs and then neuter it down to the point it barely resembles the concept design.
I've always felt that if they just put out the concept designs. Their problem wouldnt be selling them.
It would be in having to scramble to build enough to meet demand

What I think the problem is is that American auto makers don't try to sell the best car they can built, they try to see how much crap they can sucker us into buying. I understand there's a cultural diiference between here and Europe, and I wince at a lot of the things that Jeremy Clarkson says about our cars, but a lot of the time he's right. American auto makers are getting their tulips kicked all over the world because they continue to try to play the new game by the old rules. It has a lot less to do with not being able to compete because labor is more expensive here and a lot more to do with trying to pass a **** as a gold nugget. Your observation of how they always water down the concepts to satisfy the bean counters is a perfect example.
(who would have thought that t*u*r*d would get censored and *asses* wouldn't...)

Sorry Diablo, never liked the new Camaro. The fancy paint job makes it looks nice. The retro Challenger was an instant love affair with me:t
Last time I read an article, the Challenger was not planed on being released as a V6. Those cars, especially the Challenger look heavy but they are probably not. It's the Chrysler/Dodge chopptop roof look. The prototype Challenger is the reverse to the original one, that had wide greenhouse windows and short/low frame.
This chubby look can be deceiving. Like the Charger, looks like a big long car, yet my 05 Ford Taurus is longer.

we don't get a lot of snow here.
there's nothing better than screaming down the highway at 160 mph, these dogged out crown vics can't touch it.

Same here, and I'm a GM kinda guy.

Mustaine: Man, I'm never gonna get out of this car again! I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it, and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love *in* it.
Mustaine: Oh no, I wanna **** this car!

If that Camaro handles well like my 1993 Acura Integra, I'll buy it.
-
i love the new camaro, i'd like to see what engine options are going to be available. i have an 01 Z/28 and like to add another, if not the new one i'd like to look for a white 01-02 SS to go white Z

The Mustang V6 is pumping out more HP than the older model GTs V8, it's quick, fast, very stable. GMs got it's hands full trying to compete with that car. The Challenger though, V6 shouldn't even be considered. No point at all, that car just Screams Hemi, anything else is just not right :)

hands full with the v6 or v8? V8 won't be a problem the, LSX series is very strong, durable and very light. V6 won't be that big a deal from them to equal or out due.
only thing i don't like about the new Camaro is the IRS. I'd like to keep the caveman style solid rear axle.

BRING BACK THE SLANT 6!!!!!!!!!!

I really like my '06 V6 Mustang. I did add a right hand GT muffler to it and a cold air intake from C & L and did a flash job on the computer. Drives much nicer now than it did.
I agree about the Challanger, should be a Hemi. Love the looks of the car and I really don't care much for the looks of the Camaro. The other picture, the one posted by Sluggish is a nice looking car though, I really liked that one.
