That was pretty cool. Nice perspective. Notice how long the two boosters tumbled in unison.

Very neat! Thanks for sharing! I never knew the parachute deployment was staged, apparently in 3 settings for opening.

it seemed to me that the "stages" might have been the result of increased atmospheric density as it fell.
what i was thinking anyway...dunno.

lower orbit free falling.
you start in a man sized capsule strapped on a rocket and jet up into orbit, released at just below the speed needed to stay in orbit. hopefully you should do almost a whole revolution of the earth before you start dropping back down. at about 40kft something deploys to bring the shuttle back down to terminal velocity and then dumps you out the front to freefall the last 8000ft normally.
