"band of brothers" I own it
"saving ryan" I own it
"max" seen it want to own it
"der untergang" own it
"memphis belle" own it
"hat's war" seen it hated it
other aviation films:
"the right stuff" seen it
"the aviator" own it
"The Tuskegee Airmen" in queue
-
tuskegee airman was not a good film. Should have been better. From what I hear, (from the granddaugther of a tuskegee trainer), the film was a disappointment to them.
I personally felt that it should have been better. From reading and eatching documentaries, there's more subject matter that the film could have used to make it better.
Watch it anyways. :) let me know what you think afterwards.

Hell in the Pacific
Cross of Iron
Iwo Jima
The Desert Rats
None But the Brave
...classics all...
Tronsky

well, i lthink midway is one of the best, but i'd like to see a dreamworks remake.
-
midway. yep. totally.
Captain Garth: You're being paid to fly fighter planes, not sit in your bunk and cry over your girl's picture. You better shape up Tiger or some hotshot Jap pilot's gonna flame your ass.
also, the longest day, my personal favorite.
-
yea, gotta love memorial day. War movies around the clock on several channels.
-
Kelly's Heroes.
-
Flying Leathernecks
12 O'clock High
-
some I own..
Tae guk gi
A bridge too far.
Hells Angles
The Beast
Hamburger Hill
Tears of the sun
lazs
-
empire of the sun. (was reminded of it by lazs list)
it's not a battle film, its a POW film, but it is brilliant IMHO.
hamburger hill is a great one too.

a midnight clear, excellent war movie

When Trumpets Fade
-
When trumpets fade blows goats. Worst movie in my collection. I only paid 5 or 7.50 for it, but ****, its the biggest piece of war movie crap I have ever seen. Makes pearl harbor look great.
Tae guk gi, like lazs said, is a good one if you haven't already seen it. Great battle scenes and a good story.
-
Flight of the Intruder is worth seeing.
-
The Great Raid
If you haven't seen it.
Thought it was a good film, except for the love interest bs.
Bronk
-
"GI Joe" one of the best ever.
-
"Mrs. Miniver"
Greer Garson wins Best Actress oscar in '42 (or there abouts).
One of my favorite movies that holds up to repeated viewings.
Regards,
hap

BoB was...eh..Ok but
Better movie on the Bulge is "Battleground"
By far
-
Tigerland
Dirty Dozen
Force 10 from some damn where ( Harrison Ford )
Also on the somber side gardens of stone was good
The right stuff
-
Battleground, without a doubt.
Bridges at Toko Ri. It's Korea, but lots of early Jet work off the carriers.
Air Force with John Garfield. Wartime made with all the fun that includes but if you are interested in B17s at all, it's great. All kinds of early B17 film around the star of the show, the B17C "Mary Ann". Amazing how she essentially won the war in the Pacific :)

Das Boot - A film that follows a German U-boat. It's an emotional movie that at times had me unconsciously rooting for them for the few seconds it takes me to remember that I WANT them to fail. :)

Great movie.
I rooted for them.
As it was more about men then politics or idealism
First time I saw it.
It was in German with english subtitles.
I kinda liked it that way better.
Made it seem more authentic

You guys are missing a classic:
The Bridge on the River Kwai
-
Stalingrad is a must see.
Downfall was good.
The Beast if you want to see a tense modern day war movie.
Blackhawk Down is another decent one.
