Somehow the default games that came with windows XP (checkers, reversi etc...) have been deleted from my computer.  Is there any way to get them back?

They are on your XP CD. Just open Add or Remove Programs, select Add/Remove Windows Components (icon on the left), and select what you want to reinstall.

Cheers,
