Title: Another vox problems thread
Post by: brucerer on January 07, 2007, 11:56:22 PM
Did a search but the word 'vox' is too short so hopefully no-ones posted this before...

My vox works 100% about 5% of the time. The rest of the time all i hear from other people is the first syllable and then silence. So if some one was saying "check your six" all i would hear is "che....." and then nothing.

When i tune to my own gameid and talk, it sounds fine and occasionally i hear a whole transmission but it seems rare. Quite often i see a gameid popup in the top right indicating vox, but i dont hear a thing.

Is there something obvious i can check like settings or UDP ports?

Cheers.

Off the top of my head, make sure sound hardware acceleration is set to 3/4 max, not full acceleration.
Might need the top 1/3rd of your DxDiag report after it's run to help more.

Might need Skuzzy here as I'm running out of ideas.
Check the top two sticky posts by Skuzzy. Check the sound card to see if its sharing an interrupt and double check port numbers if using a firewall.

Got a new ADSL router today since my old one has been causing me grief and now it looks like its working yay.

Cheers.
