-
Steely Dan and Police dont go in same sentence! Lol
-
All top 10 cds are made by a group called Verbatim.
-

So I finally realise that there is someone who really listens to stuff like Def Leppard or Poison. It's YOU who is responsible for all that insane outrage upon music!

And the most popular album ever was also made by them, called "700Mb".

Yup Boroda. I have that one.
-
I prefer ipod.
So I guess noone has ever had a cd that was good enough they listened to it untill the laser burnt a hole through the cd lol.
-
I have so many good cds so finding only 10 favorites is really hard.
My collection of music including LPs is around 1000 albums. I dont DL music at all because the quality is crap. I do tend to make cds with the best of what i have by ripping from the originals. Some day I am going to put all my music on harddrives, and i have kida started by trying to put them on as I listen to them.

I'll have to go look through the stack... but my one rule is no Top 10 album can ever be a compilation, soundtrack (unless it's original), or a greatest hits collection.
If I had to grab 10 for a road trip, these would be it:
Beatles - Abbey Road
Counting Crows - August and Everything After
Deep Purple - Machine Head
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
Nirvana - Nevermind
Sting - Ten Summoners Tales
Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind
Dave Matthews Band - Crash
Pearl Jam - Ten
Of course, tomorrow this list will completely change. :)
-
Well, I'm a bit younger than most of you, but lately it seems that when you buy a cd, you're buying it for one or two songs at most, and the rest of them are awful.
So, using that as a benchmark, I'd say any of the first three albums by Eminem rank on the top CDs list simply by their virtue of having, at most, one or two bad songs, while the rest are very good.
Dr. Dre's 2001 is a great CD for the same reason.
Of course, this is assuming you like rap/hip hop.

Some of my favorites:
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

Orbital 2 - Orbital
Still Life (Talking) - Pat Metheny
Folsom Prison - J. Cash
I'll leave two spots for all the CDs I'm forgetting about that rock my socks.
-
1. Waiting for Columbus - Little Feat (Best live album EVER)
2. Who's Next
3. Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis
4. Genesis- Seconds Out
5. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
6. Aqualung
7. Quadrophenia
8. Yessongs
9. Grateful Dead - Reckoning
10. Grateful Dead - Mars Hotel
The order will change randomly
-
MT, Little Feat did a version of "This Land Is Your Land" that was fantastic- I've tried to find it on the Internet, but to no avail. You wouldn't by chance have that track, would you?
-
Sorry, no.
They are (were) a much better live band than a studio band.
-
in no particular order, as it changes with season / mood:
Pearl Jam - 10
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Mazzy Star - She Hangs Brightly
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
IMXS - Kick
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - This Beautiful Life
Toad the Wet Sprocket - Dulcinea
Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X
Willy Porter - Dog Eared Dream
there are a few others that pop in and out, but there are not a ton of total albums that don;t have 2 or 3 stinkers on them that stops the "WHOLE" album from being truly great.
-
It was a track they did live (of course) that I heard on the Garberville underground station while driving through the Redwoods. I've searched the indexes of all their albums and can't find it, so I'm thinking the DJ had a bootleg recording of it he'd gotten at a concert. Great song, very well done.
