I can't say much about global warming, because I'm not a scientist.
But I'll tell you one thing - there's some Connecticut Warming going on this year, that's for sure!
January 7... er 8... Er, well, not near a calendar and I'll blame Skuzzy for forgetting what day it is, but I've still yet to see more than a dozen or so snow flakes that seemed to just "make an appearance" and then disappear. None stuck.
This is, by far, the mildest winter in my 23 years and my parents say it's the mildest in their lives too.
I was wondering if any of you other guys from the north have been noticing the same thing?
I also wonder, how is this going to affect the fishing in the spring :furious
Either the fish'll be huge because they have so much longer to eat, I suppose, or they'll be dead because their prey's reproduction cycle will get all messed up.
At any rate, I might be looking for bass on the beds in late February this year

I'm not as far north as you but here in SE Virginia I've noticed that in the past few years winter comes a little later every year. And so far this year we've had 5 cold days (between 32, and 40) right now its 68 deg outside @4:30 pm 7/8/07 strange if you ask me.

In Denver we have had more snow in the last few weeks than we have had in the last few years combined. Come get some of the snow out of my yard if you are missing it that much. :D

Sell your snow on ebay, $25 a jar (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150075963257)

I'm with you, Elfie. I'm in Colorado too, and the snow is piled up so high along each edge of my driveway that I can no longer lob it over the top! And more on the way this Thursday/Friday. We could use a bit of that Global Warming...my back is killing me from shovelling the white stuff. Mind you, I'm glad we're getting the moisture; I just wish it would give us a bit more of a break between blizzards.

we have yet to have a cold here this year. every day it's in the 80s.

Last summer was the mildest Atlantic hurricane season in a decade too!

Winter has been remarkably mild here too. It freezes during the night, but daytime everything melts. And I live above the polar circle!
-
Heck, around here it's been 30°C ±5 every afternoon for a month straight now..
-
This was the first christmas I can remember with no snow at all. There's no question whether there was snow in the years I can't remember, because those were one of the coldest years in couple of decades.
Conveniently there was snowing in Jerusalem at christmas!
The jews stole our snow! :furious

I've worn my bomber jacket more than once in the last month. And the cool air has hit the DFW area. So I'm not sure if it's getting warmer. But I read that this is the year for El Neno.

Hasn't El Nino happened before though?
Because, at least up here, this is not like anything seen for a long while.

El Nino should not concern Europeans but we here in Finland are experiencing warmest winter in about 2000 years... Lakes should have frozen 1.5 months ago and we should have snow covering almost all of Finland but no..
The only good thing is that electricity bill is going to be a little smaller due smaller warming costs, but otherwise this is just buttered up winter. It rains 2/3 of time and its damned dark around here without snow.
I think some scientist are frantically recalculating everything they have done so far. We might get some palm trees up here during my lifetime! ( actually would be nice if we got the hula hula girls along the trees)

Yeah winter in Cali has been odly cold. I have been tempted to not wear shorts one or two days, but then getting to work, and seeing the women have turned the heat on and its 80 in my cube I keep the shorts.

Nearly froze yesterday.. had to throw on some long pants after 6pm.
