Troy Smith winning the heisman will go down as one of the top three Heisman ripoffs in history.
1) Geno Torretta wins over Marshal Faulk
2) Charles Woodson wins over Payton Manning
3) Troy Smith wins over Darren Mcfadden
Again why didn't he win the Heisman?

You can't measure a football player on one game, but you can measure him on one season, or a career...

Sorry but the biggest Heisman ripoff ever was another Ohio State shorty...
Archie Griffin deserved the Heisman his junior year.... His senior year it was pure robbery. Ricky Bell shoulda won.. look it up.

The choice of the Heisman winner makes perfect sense to me.
Between the two quarterbacks, Leak and Smith, Leak had 400 more yards passing overall, 20 yards more passing per game than did Smith, in a season with an absolutely murderous conference schedule.
The only category Smith beat him in was in touchdown passes completed; 30 to 23. Yet Smith's quarterback rating was through the roof; 114 to 94 for Leaks.
Certainly politics played a part in Smith's winning the Heismann.

Look, McFadden couldn't win, wont win next year either. Its the Arkansas thing. Let me explain:
Last year Mitch Mustain was the top HS QB in the country. Right up until he dissed ND and committed to Arkansas. Then all of a sudden he was # 4 or 5.
Troy Smith deserved to win it. The #1 criteria is leading your team to WINS! McFadden might have cut into the votes even more if we had beat LSU and Fla.

No revotes. Its the kiss of death to win the Heisman.
