Trump trumps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGZaCnfNgLE)
The sound is out of sync in this clip, which made me think that it was fake at first. When you hear the comments, you might agree. Just for the sake of credability, here's a longer interview from which many of these soundbytes are taken:
pure intensity, donald style (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzYhQi21sns)

From what she did to Tom Selleck back on her show a couple years back, it was a great forshadowing of what a sweetheartbag and waste of skin she is. One day she will fade away out of memory of the media once people start to get tired of her idiocy, or she'll just curl up into her rolls.
-
So you're saying that Rosie is a kind of human black hole. Interesting theory. I like it.
-
:rofl how can anyone not like the donald.
-
BS...
Rosie is a comedian. What she said was repeated by numerous comedians including Steven Colbert and John Stewart. But Trump is coming off on this one like a petulant 3 year old. First he was completely wrong in his accusations of the failure of her show, then the only comeback he has is to call her ugly? He's an idiot.
Good grief, you'd think someone would actually need brains to be admired.

well MT, at times I admire you.
-
ba-dum bum.
-
Trump may be a petulent 3 year old, but funny as hell anyway. His complete disregard for interview etiquette is priceless. Anybody else saying those sorts of things, in that tone, would be setting themselves up for public, perhaps legal crucifixion.
He just doesn't care. He delivers his crudity without refinement or concern for the consequences. Political incorrectness is becoming his trademark... It is that, if anything, that deserves admiration.
-
this really had me cracking up - i love it - i think trump is getting to odonnell.

Is there any interview etiquette anymore? Watch Hannity and Colmes or any other interview show*, and they just all talk at the same time.
*With the exception of Larry King, he actually asks and listens.

Maybe interview etiquette was the wrong term to use.
Let's just say that for a public figure, his complete lack of restraint in making a personal attack, especially given the relative pettiness of the whole matter is, well, unique.
Calling him a 3 year old was actually pretty spot on, in my opinion. One of the things that I envy in 3 year olds, is their lack of a need, or ability, to edit any aspect of their behavior for the purposes politeness. I still wouldn't call him an idiot though.
-
This whole thing has been going on for a while and the longer it does the more it reminds me of Andy Kaufman and that wrestler.

Then you aren't watching both sides.
-
And they both have you all spoofed.
Dont you think that they both realise you cant buy publicity like this with any amount of money?
the public arguements may very well be real. And amusing
Buyt I also think they are very well calculated.
Listen to the interviews of each other them.
they both sound like the soundbites that are used in the "Reality" shows like "American Chopper"
That being said.
I used to like Rosie when she was just a comedian.
While never attractive. She at least came across as being real.
Then once and since shes "made it" She has become nothing more then an overopinionated selfrightous first class (insert favorite profane derogitory female discription here)
She's "come out of the closet"
She in reality is probably Bisexual not Gay
The only reason she is a lesbian now. is she cant find a man willing to deal with her nonsense.
The Donald is ok but..
He who started with money to begin with is in no way qualified to tell or teach people how to "make it."
I think most of us could make it big if we were able to start out with the money and connections he was able to.
-
I cant quite put my finger on it (pun intended) but I just plain dislike Odonnell. She is loud and obnoxious and nothing to look at.
I do however like Ellen DeGeneres. She is sincere, smart and altogether kinda of almost sorta sexy, in a wierd offhand sort of way........
Trump? bah.........

Ellen is pretty funny. Her show's always on while I'm waiting in line at the Post Office, and it really makes the hour go by.
-
See now I like Elllen.
And quite honestly I like Ellen alot more since she came out of the closet.
I mean everyone knew what she was so when she came out I dont think many people were overly shocked.
But Ellen comes across as being almost Snoopy like cool. as Yeager said she comes across as being sincere and together. And just a kinda fun person to be around
and just living her life as she sees fit and having a good time doing it.
I can respect that
And she doesnt try to be the utterly miserable obnoxious spokeswoman for the gay community
Which Rosie tries to be.
that I have no respect for
-
I'm not sure that this is a spoof. With Barbara Walters involved, it seems less likely.
If it is, however, I still appreciate the hilarity factor.

She has tried to force her view onto other people or confront and ridicule people who are adverse to things like gun control, which she supports and beleives strongly in. I think her stunt with Tom Selleck on her show a couple years ago was the beginning of her downfall, if you can pinpoint a single event in her career as the start of her slide. She is one of those hollywood types who does have a side political agenda and in addition will do anything to draw attention, negative or positive to her actions. Colbert and Stewart have much more class and tact in the way they conduct themselves on their shows. Rosie is a like a fat rabid duck who salivates at any opportunity to ridicule popular figures who are more successful than her.
-

lol - no, I'm seeing it. Trump is laughing at her. i'd say Donald was pretty upset about the hair thing, which is the real drive behind his ranting imho. still, i'm backing Donald because I cannot stand that fat celebrity bimbo who seems to think that being a fat prettythanged deisel dike lesbian tv queen gives her the right to consider herself the barometer of good taste and a strategic planner in the war on terror.
Donald hit her right between her fat, pudgy eyes. He may send his friend over there to take her "wife" away from her, too. He's going to have an easy time taking a lot of money out of her fat prettythang too. she's just a fat, unattractive loser, inside and out. :aok
anyway, Donald caused a tiff btw O'donnel and B. Walters. I just know O'donnel was unprepared for Donald's pit bull attack and wishes it would go away. meanwhile, Donald is having a good time. Just my .02
Drediock, good point about Ellen Degeneris - I have absolutely no problem with her, although her humor is not mine, she is ok in my book. Not that fat loser O'donnel though.
-
I think some folks just have a problem with women who actually have opinions. I wonder how this thread would have spun if Ellen were fat?
AND
Rosie apologized for the Selleck interview years ago. She quit a highly rated show and gave up millions of dollars to spend time with her children. She lives in a monogamous relationship and has been with the same partner for years. She is the freakin poster child for republican family values and you guiys hate her because she's fat. Funny.
-
Ellen is basically likeable.
Rosie is not likeable.
Likeable wins every time.
P.S. Yes, make that a soft i and the result is much the same.
-
I think some folks just have a problem with women who actually have opinions.
nope. not me and probablly no one else here either. this is not the 50's. most of us have opinionated women in our lives.
I wonder how this thread would have spun if Ellen were fat?
exactly the same, except Halo might not say that she was likeable with the soft "i". i have no problem with overweight women per se, and have found some to be attractive...
being opinionated or overweight have nothing at all to do with it. i think you missed the humor of the whole thing, MT.

Hey, at least now you can't whine about how Republicans are always blindly supporting other Republicans.
-
I never whine.
I may babble.
-
Rosie is so smart. She knows that we shouldn't teach math in schools anymore.
You know? With, like, calculators and stuff, why do we need to know math?

Couldnt care less if she was fat or not.
Dont even care with women who have opinions. Provided they are clear and concise and civil about it
Problem with Rosie is she typically has to put forth her opinion in a very nasty self rightous way. And with little that has any resemblence of civility.
There was a clip I saw a while back of her arguing with one of the other women on "The View" who dissagreed with her. Rosie was getting more and more exited. and finally blurted out
"Why are you yelling at me? Why does this have to resort to yelling?"
the lady Responded "Im not yelling"
and she wasnt. She was actually being pretty cool and calm. Rosie was the only one yelling.
Now this I saw with my own eyes.
with Rosie. ONLY her opinion matters.
Hers is the only right one.
-
I have never liked Rosie. She is irritating and obnoxious, regardless of her sexual preference. She is irritating and obnoxious, regardless of her weight. She is irritating and obnoxious, period.

ditto
-
Weight is not Rosie's occupational problem. and has nothing to do with the soft i in likeable. Her problem is her basic grating personality and a voice that makes alley cats run.
Comedic insult is a long-established tradition (e.g., Don Rickles), but it's a fine line that few can walk for a whole career.
Master comics can be world class brazen and still retain audience empathy and enthusiasm. Unfortunately, some comedians lose their resilience as they age and wind up themselves being mocked.
-
I will give Rosie credit for one thing - she shut up O'Reilly right quick the first time I saw her on his show (shortly after 9/11).
I was actually kinda dissappointed. I was expecting more of a battle of the loudmouths, but he just shut right up.
...
OTOH, the quote that best describes Rosie comes directly from one of her movies (Stakeout II or whatever it's called):
Rosie: How long have you had your moustache?
Emilio Estevas: 13 years. How long have you had your's?
:D
-
I hate rosie so much it wouldn't bother me if he just walked up to her, unzipped & pissed all over her. I hope at the very least he destroys her, financially, emotionally & physically.
Edit: I couldn't care less what she weighs either, she's far from being a conservative family values person & certainly wouldn't fit the bill as a poster child. Ellen is irritating, but she doesn't give me the urge to run over her like rosie does. I like Roseanne better than rosie & Roseanne gets on my nerves pretty bad. If she was doing comedy shctick on a comedy show it would be different when she opens her gaping maw to babble, but the view is not a comedy show from what I've seen & likening her insults & attacks to comedy is out of touch with reality.

Nothing.
Oh wait... she wanted to debate him on gun control. He got pissed. She apologized. The *****.
-
Here is the actual transcript, Habu:

-
Wow powerful stuff.
Ok I now have an opinion. Rosie is a dick. Even if she doesn't have one (even though she wishes she did)
Two thumbs up for Tom Selleck.
Two thumbs up for Donald Trump.
-
I watched it live (ok, tivo'd by the wife). Selleck became peeved, Rosie backed down and apologized. Look at how long Selleck was allowed to talk. The interview took place soon after the Columbine shootings and Odonnel was riled up about that too, so she was a little too confrontational.
Sorry, but Selleck got pissed for trivial reasons.
Here is the part of my post that will be ignored...
Rosie is possibly the most generous and altruistic celebrity in America. She has given away and donated millions. She has sought and won college scholarships for deserving kids all over the country, she is the model for all these shows out now like House Makeover and Make a Wish and all those other tear jerkers. She did it first. Yes even before Oprah. It certainly seems that many of you are forming opinions of people based on information from those idiot shows that tell you what your opinion of people should be.

One more thing in her defense... Also from that O'Reilly episode I mentioned earlier... O'Reilly was asking her why she refused to participate in the telecast celebrity fundraiser for 9/11. Her answer?
She asked if there was a cover charge to participate, and they told her "no." She said she'd participate if they made her pay $1 million to do so.
Kind of strange high-road logic, but interesting nonetheless.
Still, I can't say I really like her.

Look at the transcript, she didnt back down, only to try and cover her steps but she hardly let Mr. Selleck get a word in edge wise and have an adult conversation with her about it. The only thing she was intelligent enough to do was acknowledge they both had different opposing views. In addition after Karl Malone appeared in a similar ad for the NRA like Mr. Selleck, Odonnell put out a press release stating he would not be invited on her show. To add to all of the negative publicity she craves it is no wonder Kmart tanked her bellybutton as their spokesperson after she got them to amend their company policy to not sell firearms which contributed to a drop in sales.
-
Tom Selleck could have completely monopolized that interview, but he forgot the sandwich at home.

Funny, I watched it (not tivo'd) & got a completely different view of it. I could care less what cause she is a champion of, it's HER I can't stand.....& I don't think much of Oprah either.

I'm no Rosie fan...but having a pissing contest with the likes of her...whether or not he "wins" or not doesn't matter. Of all the people he could trade barbs with...she's a comedian, he's not. He'd be doing himself a big favor by just letting it go and letting Rosie continue to make an arse out of herself.
Besides, she has a great catfight going on with Bah Bah WahWah
