Can you actually destroy one ?

I did a nice bomb run on a runway last night in some buffs, almost the whole length but they were just 100kilo's.

managed to stagger around a landing LA7 and a flak panzer, but over all was fun to see the bombs impacting that runway watching the screen for kills :)

Well ... this was asked before and ... yes you can, but it takes a tremendous amount of bombs to do it ... and from what I have read, it repairs itself very quickly ... so effectively ... no.

Back in the noob days, my first bomb run ever I thought you could take out the runway.  Took a B26 and planted a few 500lbers down the middle.  Was disappointed back then as I saw aircraft up over the bombed out tarmac.  

Now, I'm quite grateful you can't.

IIRC it was talked about, and they "are" and object in the list of things you could "destroy" under destroy objects in the arena tools, but I don;t know anymore, that was a long time ago.

I thought it was talked about at the CON you were at in the discussion 35... ever so breifly, but discussed.

You don't want this enabled because it gets abused.  You take a fighter over to an enemy field drop 1 bomb on the plane spawn point and collect a crap loada kills as planes spawn and blow up.

Or a bomber drops bombs each end of the runway effectively closing the smaller fields without dropping hangers.  This can be expanded to all sizes of fields if coordinated.

As a former incumbent of the "Spawn" wars.....You don't need this crap as well.
