Flew the 163 for the first time in a long time last night as set of buffs was busy porking the nearby factory. Upon killing the second bomber, I heard the of a piece of debris hitting me and the engine dies. Well, I figured "Ok... they modeled some sort of damage to the rocket. Cool."
As I'm gliding back to base, I bring up the damage list... nothing in red. On a whim, I hit E to kick start the rocket again and it fired up just fine. Zoom back to kill the final buff, sure enough I do the same thing (clip debris, engine dies). Of course, I don't film anything. Landed without further incident.
I've always wondered about the ability to shut off the engine and restart on a Komet anyway :D

Debris never causes damage to any plany, it does just a sound effect.
You engine did not die because of the debris, but because of neagtive Gs. Similar to Hurri I & Spit one, but your rocket engine does not sputter, it just shuts down.

Interesting and it makes sense. I was ducking under the exploding buff both times. I guess I've never pushed negative before in a 163  Thanks for the heads up!

Fuselage is no debris. Debris are the small parts flying around. You just collided with the plane itself (=the part that still has an icon).

Yep, shuts down under negative G. Just need to re-start it.
BTW, you can shut down and re-start anytime in a 163. Takes a few seconds to re-gain momentum when you re-fire though.
