I really like this, but it looks distinctly post-war.

This one too. It's a Dutch Spit IX. What info I can find says the bird was built in 1943, but no info on when it got that particular owner or paint job.

A little more digging on the aircraft above finds a very interesting history, read it here: http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/spitfire.html - but it's not the original bird. The markings are supposedly those of 322 Sqdn RNAF which today flies F-16s.

Top photo shows a restored Spit 14 RN201. That paint scheme was actually used on a 41 squadron Spitfire 21 post war.
The bottom bird saw combat with a 485 Squadron during the war but is in a postwar Dutch scheme.

I've seen the Spitfire in the top poicture fly .......in a Duxford display.
It gave the best aerobatic display I have seen EVER!

I have also at Duxford.
The last display I went to though the spitfire pilots were not up to much.
Saw a really good yak3 pilot though pulling some good moves. Need that plane in AH :)

That Spit 14 us now based in Florida. Same guy owns a Spit IX, a Flugwerke 190 and some others.

The top Spit looks similar to the P51D Mustang...more specifically it's wings are what gives it the P51's distinct look....in my opinion.
