Title: Changed ISP, still discos. Help!
Post by: eskimo on March 06, 2000, 02:05:00 AM
I don't get it. I just switched from a traditional phone modem to a cable modem ISP, but had 3 discos tonight (my second night flying with cable ISP). What could be wrong? Could my computer be screwed up? Could my copy of the game be screwed up? Do I just have bad luck?  Where should I look?

Eskimo, just because you changed ISP's don't mean that your route to the HTC server has really changed any.

You need to perform a trace route, which can be executed from a DOS window, or preferably thru a freeware/shareware package that can do it numerous times (minimum of 10 is my preference).

Then see what that tells you.  If it shows a problem send it to Pyro.

CC, what Verm said.  If you're having connection difficulty, the only way we can troubleshoot it is with a traceroute.  Even though it's probably not under our control, we can forward this information to those responsible.
