That looks like it would be a lot of fun to play in actually. Get it on a big oval track & fly your butt off :lol

That was the original way the first pilots learned how to fly the BD-5.
It was sold to home-builders and it was a single seater so it was a sales dilemma to get people to buy who would not be able to get flying lessons in them before they did their first flight.
That was a way for them to practice the landing and takeoff flight characteristics.

I think that was the closest Lepaul ever got to flying a BD-5, (and that was probably in a dream!)

better yet get it on a circular track, run the truck throttle up to the plane and you don't need a driver...

With my luck, the thing would've busted and I would've set a record for the only pilot to get run over by a truck...on a runway.
I sold my BD-5 3 years ago. Essentially when it was impossible to insure and would require no less than $70,000 to get flying.
