So are you going to add huey's in "Aces High II" now??
:D
-
I see a Huey gunship comming this Christmas :D
-
yay:D

Well if we ever get a Korean War arena we could get the Bell 47, and a few of those other goofy looking wirly birds. Maybe make a perk catagory for airlifting wounded soilders from a messed up base back to the M*A*S*H:D
Back on topic though.....what kind of swing wing were you flying in HiTech???
-
There's that two rotor helicopter that Hannah Reisch flew into the stadium in Berlin, maybe it could serve a purpose. Pilot recovery? Pick up a bailed pilot and he gets a 'landed' and you get perk points.

please for the sake of the community :D

OMG, lol now that is scary. No learning experiance in a helo and he goes up then twirls and down into a smashed paper ball.
I believe HiTech is flying the R-22 Training helocopter like in that crazy video. Good luck HiTech, be sure to wear a parachute. (Yes you can bail from a helocopter, just have make sure the thing is going up and your going down)

No pictures = fake. :D

You know, I had a friend of mine do the same thing that guy in the video did but with a motorcycle.
My friend Ed bought a GSX550 never having riden a motorcycle before in his life. He didn't even know how to drive a car with a clutch. Anyway he asks me if I can teach him how to ride, so I tell him we need to go borrow a couple of small dirt bikes from anouther friend of ours, go out in a field and learn the basics. He tells me no, he has his bike and wants to learn on that.
So I spend a couple of days trying to convince him other wise but he'll have none of it so off we go to this big empty parking lot. I go over everything with him again for about the 100th time and he hops on the bike. 1st gear slips the clutch and the bike jumps...he panics and grabs the front brake lever thinking it's the clutch lever while at the same time twisting real hard on the throttle. Needless to say that bike has alot of tourqe and he ended up doing a couple of really cool burnout donuts before he laid it over and tore the bike up.
He sold it a month later after he got it fixed. He still doesn't know how to ride a motorcycle.

That helo in the video looks like a Hughes 300 to me.

hehe...Don't let these poor misguided souls discourage you Hitech. You are in for some fun flying!
What type are you training on?
I have a few hours here and there on several types
Feel free to PM or email me if you need some insight, or even just a sounding board.
"Kick the skid and spin the lid!"
And don't worry about what ASW said. He tends to see the world a little differently than most of us. :D

Top picture is the bird I am flying.
Did about 5 aproches to land ending in hover about 3 ft off ground. Hover ,taxi hover, turns while in hover, And left and right moves. And did one autorotation.
I was very bz for a first day.

A little over 18 AHII subscriptions per hour...
-
Congrats, HT. Trust me, you will have some interesting dreams tonight. :)
Wait until you solo the first time... without the instructor in there, the weight and balance is VERY different.

Could be..I think I've seen maybe 2 Hughes in 20 years...they aren't
real common in NJ. Of course most of the flingwing stuff that comes to
MMU is turbine, expensive turbine at that..S-76Cs, EC-135s.
I have seen a couple Schweitzers lately, R-22s and 44s once in a
blue moon. I don't expect to see alot more unless a flight school starts
operating them here. Rotor time runs about twice what fixed wing does
according to my rotorhead wannabe pals :)

When I was a kid, a TV show aired titled "Whirlybirds" and the chopper they flew did not look too different from the pic you posted.
Enjoy the lessons!

Whirlybirds flew Bell 47J Ranger and a Bell 47G. It was filmed at Van Nuys Airport. It starred Kenneth Tobey and Craig Hill.
I was hooked on flying from the second I saw that show as a kid.

I used to watch every episode of whirly birds when I was a kid. I loved any show about flying and that was one of the better ones.
