Title: MX300s (Aureal Vortex 2s) and DX8?

Well, obviously going to have to get around to putting Dx8 on to play AH next version, and also Op Flashpoint when it comes out, etc.

I have the 1.04.01 drivers for my V5, no problem there.

I have the last that I know of reference drivers for Aureal 2.

But will Dx8 screw up the the operation of the card at all (I'm familiar with the whole issue with RW, I mean anything BESIDES RW; but isn't that just with Soundblasters anyway?)

www.vortexofsound.com (http://www.vortexofsound.com)  should have the latest drivers for those cards.  .2048 is the newest I think.  (Make sure you don't restart after installing the drivers for about 5 minutes, they install in background.)

I had a Vortex 2 based card, but had to dump it because windows 2000 and my Asus A7V Mb didn't like it.  You can try it, but my experience is these great sounding (when working) cards are loads of trouble.

Yeah, those were the last drivers (out long ago)..I have 'em.

I've not had a scrap of trouble with my card and I believe I've had it for over two years.
