Title: installation problem
Post by: Kronos on June 29, 2001, 07:54:00 AM
Need some help.  Had to reformat my harddrive, and after I loaded all my drivers, d/l'd and installed AH, I tried to run it.  It came up with the video screen, asking me for resolution.  I set my prefs, and clicked ok and it gives me an illegal operation message and I have to close the program.  All drivers are the same as previous installations (which worked fine).

Please give some details about your system, video card, OS, drivers, etc.  That may help to identify the problem.

What video card are you running, and what resolution and color depth did you select?  Are you runnind DX8?  What video driver version are you running?

Also, if you are running Roger Wilco, try disabling it, removing it, or at least set it to use WAV recording if using DX8.

Did you possibly forget to install Direct X?  (At least 7a.)  Either that or maybe you selected 32 bit color on a voodoo 3 or below?

Try deleting video.cfg in the settings directory and making sure you have dx7a or higher.  (I'd probably go up to 8a at this point.)  Now try again.  :)
